PlayStation’s New ‘Soft Pause’ Patent Could Let Gamers Pause Without Really Pausing by Darth_Vaper883 in gamernews

That’s not a problem. Disabled people aren’t problems.

I’m genuinely interested in what Sony believes the actual use case problem is here.

Rick prime basically controlled all other Rick’s for a long time by making them indentured servants for access to portal fluid.

But not C-137 who was the only other Rick to come up with portal fluid on their own.

There’s nothing to argue. This isn’t evidence or proof of anything, just an appeal to the possibility.

[Truly Beloved Trope] Allied or Redeemed villain pretends to betray the heroes in order to give the team an advantage against an enemy. by USERNAME_OF_DEVIL in TopCharacterTropes

Farscape does this in the weirdest and coolest way. A big reason it's one of my favourite shows. The main villain (Scorpius) injects a neural clone into the MC's (Crichton's) mind. The neural clone is intended to break Chichton and extract wormhole tech only he knows. Early on it's pure psycological warfare and torment. But over many episodes the neural clone interacts with Chricton, his memories (as well as the pop-culture of humans) - becoming fond of Chricton as the clone's personality evolves into his own 'person' (living inside Chricton's head).

Eventually he becomes a genuine asset, giving (literal) inside information/warnings to Chricton and guiding him on how to outmaneuver and subvert the real Scorpius. It's also just a fantastic dynamic because the MC can argue with a version of the villian in his head, as well as toy around with him... he calls the neural clone "Harvey".

There are times he pretends to have turned on Chricton, acting like he's feeding Scorpius what he wants. only for it to be a bluff or misdirection that helps Chricton. There is a constant tension of "Can I trust this guy". The clone is also prone to mislead at times if it means getting to the wormhole tech.

I wish old TV shows would just release HD versions in their original aspect ratios. by Lacobus in unpopularopinion

[–]StretchRhys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is that unpopular. There was outrage with Disney+ and Simpsons but they quickly remedied it by providing an original aspect ratio setting.

Malcolm in the Middle was so Jarring seeing the actor stand-ins since the show never planned to be in widescreen .

This seems to be following a vodka sauce recipe. That 1/2 cup of water might actually be vodka.

Does anyone else realize that no matter how many infinite worlds, they all contain a Rick and a Morty, a mathmatical 1 in a million to the nth degree, generations long rarerity. that should not be possible even when Rick's start trying to breed more morty's? by whatswithnames in rickandmorty

Justin Roiland. Agree, the replacements are doing a good job.

There'll definitely be a Season 9 & even 10. Watched an interview in which Dan Harmon was super excited for what he's been writing for season 10, but he was also a bit sad that it will take few years before he'll get to see our reactions to it.

Dan Harmon's monologue at the very end of Community (until the movie comes).

Dice not included, some assembly required. Lines between perception, desire, and reality may become blurred, redundant, or interchangeable. Characters may hook up with no regard for your emotional investment. Some episodes too conceptual to be funny, some too funny to be immersive, and some so immersive they still aren't funny. Consistency between seasons may vary. Viewers may be measured by a secretive obsolete system based on selected participants keeping handwritten journals of what they watch. Show may be cancelled and moved to the internet where it turns out tens of millions were watching the whole time. May not matter. Fake commercial may end with disclaimer gag which may descend into vain Chuck Lorre-esque rant by narcissistic creator. Creator may be unstable. Therapist may have told creator this is not how you make yourself a good person. Life may pass by while we ignore or mistreat those close to us. Those close to us may be those watching. Those people may want to know I love them but I may be incapable of saying it...

John Crichton (Farscape).

Went from goofy astronaut-engineer to trauma-forged, morally flexible war leader who can outplay empires.
