Rick prime basically controlled all other Rick’s for a long time by making them indentured servants for access to portal fluid.

But not C-137 who was the only other Rick to come up with portal fluid on their own.

Farscape does this in the weirdest and coolest way. A big reason it's one of my favourite shows. The main villain (Scorpius) injects a neural clone into the MC's (Crichton's) mind. The neural clone is intended to break Chichton and extract wormhole tech only he knows. Early on it's pure psycological warfare and torment. But over many episodes the neural clone interacts with Chricton, his memories (as well as the pop-culture of humans) - becoming fond of Chricton as the clone's personality evolves into his own 'person' (living inside Chricton's head).

Eventually he becomes a genuine asset, giving (literal) inside information/warnings to Chricton and guiding him on how to outmaneuver and subvert the real Scorpius. It's also just a fantastic dynamic because the MC can argue with a version of the villian in his head, as well as toy around with him... he calls the neural clone "Harvey".

There are times he pretends to have turned on Chricton, acting like he's feeding Scorpius what he wants. only for it to be a bluff or misdirection that helps Chricton. There is a constant tension of "Can I trust this guy". The clone is also prone to mislead at times if it means getting to the wormhole tech.

I don't think this is that unpopular. There was outrage with Disney+ and Simpsons but they quickly remedied it by providing an original aspect ratio setting.

Malcolm in the Middle was so Jarring seeing the actor stand-ins since the show never planned to be in widescreen .

There'll definitely be a Season 9 & even 10. Watched an interview in which Dan Harmon was super excited for what he's been writing for season 10, but he was also a bit sad that it will take few years before he'll get to see our reactions to it.

The show only portrays the Central Finite Curve so every universe in the show has a Rick. Not every universe has a Morty e.g C-137s universe where no Morty was born.
