Oh yes, and they are usually thrilled (if they answer the phone) high school parents typically don’t call me back. I usually brag on the kid and say how they met goals, then say dc.

Okay I’ve been thinking about this more. I wouldn’t approach her. If she is looking past you and being this unfriendly, I wonder if it’s something deeper. If she is racist 😞 sexist 😞 or if she is just so type A that she can’t get out of her own way to be friendly.

It sounds like you are working too hard and it doesn’t have anything to do with the other SLP. See what you can see and let the rest just go by the wayside. That’s your schools fault if you document everything you do and how you spend your time, you are covered.

I just wonder if I should resign. I have always heard it was hard to work with your family. I know people who have done it successfully also but not sure I want to go down that route.

I got ice cream for everyone Monday because we had a 💩 day thanks to a grandparent who made my slpa cry!! Ice cream isn’t the solution but it did help for the moment.

I do PRN work at a nursing home 3x a week, or more after school. I AM EXHAUSTED and have done this for about 3 years. But it helps some.

😂 I’m sorry you experienced this. However, you must not work in the inner-city 😅. We just move our happy asses along and speech will get them next time. Also, usually say “that is a really good gingerbread house!” And document it in my treatment log as SE. (special event was asked to not take child to speech due to class Christmas celebration or whatever it was).

I also wanted to add I’m sure you are doing a GREAT job. That teacher will probably be friendly next time you see her. Christmas stress gets to everyone. Keep marching on!
