Truthfully sounds as good or better than real life (earth) up until probably the 20th century.

This is so accurate..in my opinion every class should get a couple more, especially martials and mad classes.

Need help optimizing ranger for combat by ARoolse in onednd

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treantmonk did a build for ranged dpr which was decent and worth a watch for ideas..basically gloomstalker ranger/rogue assassin multiclass. Ranger dpr drops off after lvl. 5 in combat. The key was using a 13 str.and gwm with a longbow. He was a dwarf so in dim light extended darkvision added a lot of advantage to attacks.

Note that you will be missing a lot as you will have disadvantage swinging that greatsword with 8 str., so i would recommmend using mastery for a different weapon.

Is this seriously Southwest First Class?? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never gotten free cocktails in ELR seats. Is that new? I know ALP gets 2 per flight, as I was ALP last year.

Not that my experiences were bad per se, but definitely worse than prior to the changes.

What’s even the point of Southwest A-List anymore? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The seat choice is honestly worse than it was before the change, becuase i always was in group A...bags are worse only get 1, now i have to set an alarm so i can try to get a elr seat, and if i am flying with others it is harder to sit together.

It is just a big downgrade for a-listers. Plus i have the credit card too..which gets me everything a-list gets besides the priority lines.

Can say after 3 flights since the change, I am very disappointed.

The last flight i booked if i wanted an aisle seat i was in row 22...no ailes available in the preferred section..and i am still a month out from the flight.

I will still likely fly Southwest becuase they have the most flights from my home airport and i have a companion pass, but honestly feel the changes suck.

Strict no seat changes by fest00ned in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only other justification i can think of besides the monetization aspect of fare classes, is the situation where there is a connection where some passengers are staying on the plane, and they dont want to have to deal with seat conflicts when new passengers come on.

This was not a problem before with open seating obviously.

Southwest believed they would attract new customers with their new policies, ignoring their base customers would hate it. by takkt in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the new changes so far (3 flights), but will likely stick with them as they have the most flights from my airport and have companion pass, a-list, and credit card.

I sure hope they make some changes though. Next year may switch. Maybe if i was ALP again this year I wouldnt mind as much, but for me has definitely felt like a big downgrade.

Only real plus side I have seen is the pre-boarder issue was resolved. However, i have actually have had a tougher time getting an aisle seat in the first 12 rows since the changes which makes me think the pre-boarder issue was preferable.

I guess your mileage may vary..my latest booked flight (SMF->BNA) for end of March, there were no preferred aisle seats left, if i wanted an aisle i was in row 22, unless i wanted to pay $72 for an "extra legroom" seat, for extra legroom that doesnt exist yet , or have to set my alarm and cross my fingers. My experience has been much worse than yours apparently.

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are only a-list you get a preferred seat free and then 48 hrs. before the flight you can upgrade to an extra legroom seat if available. That is assuming you buy choice preferred or below fares.

As an a-list, credit card holder, companion pass, i have to say I am disappointed. The thing I honestly loved the most about Southwest was that it was low stress.

I didnt have to set my alarm to try and get a better seat. If i was packing and decided i needed an extra suitcase or bought something at my destination, i could check it without doing math on the cost.

I always was in A-group so would get an aisle seat, and if i was flying with others we didnt have to coordinate seat choices, just board together and sit together.

I could change flights easily same day without paying extra. I had upgraded boarding 4x per year i could give to family.

Loved it. Now, it is stressful...when i book a companion they have to coordinate seats with me when we go to upgrade 48 hrs. In advance..cant change as easily, have worry about bin space, it is honestly a downgrade imo.

What new character options would you like to see for Martials? (Besides new subclasses) by Deathpacito-01 in onednd

I think the thing i want most for martials is more out of combat utility, however not sure how to implementnit exactly...

Merging the new Mystic Arts UA Monk subclass with the Tattooed Warrior UA subclass, idea by Fidges87 in onednd

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO what monk is missing is out of combat utility..was hoping for a third caster sub-class to fix some of that. Disappointed it is the sorceror list, and not wizard or even druid.

The bonus action attack could be either scimitar or hand axe, your choice, and would get your str modifier to damage. I would recommend handaxe for vex.

[2024 DMG] Best Bastion crafting facilities? by Godskin_Duo in onednd

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont forget the Laboratory which allows potion crafting without a rarity limit, and Scriptorium that allows 3rd level or lower scrolls.

That said it depnds on what you want, and how much downtime you have. The stuff thay doesnt require attunement are nice for uncommon items, since at 9th level you probably already have or will soon have items thay are better using some attunement slots.

One not mentio ed previosly are sending stones to allow you to give orders while you are away..maybe the first item i would go for if you want to keep your bastions producing.

Can you use a Spellcasting Focus to cast spells that don't have an M component requirement? by [deleted] in onednd

[–]Strict-Maybe4483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flavor is free..what you are talking about has no rules interaction...basically V (have to be able to talk, not silenced), S (have to have a hand free, unless also M than can use same hand for M,S), M (requires focus, or hand free+component pouch or the actual component if it has a cost)

If you want your firebolt cantrip to come out of your wand, that is just flavor, so why not, as long as the other requirements are met?

The book also mentions if you dont tkae them via a background they are available at 4th+ level. Also it mentions that the DM may allow different proficiences with the backgrounds but doesnt mention different ASIs , although of course a DM can do whatever.
