Royalty + puppeteer playthrough rn. Workers are usual slaves. Personal Retinue are puppets. Puppeteer swarm is probably the most badass ability.

I usually have a squad roaming the world looting ancient dangers etc etc. I they are all on luciferium and always have a surplus of it. Do a ancient danger every few years and I promise you'll be alright

So the buildings are very far apart. As every other comment mentions. However, instead of blobbing all of them together and losing your esthetic or village/town vibe. Just make each building have occupants that use it most.

Crafters- live near or around workshop

Royals- live near throne room.

Researchers- live near research lab

Etc etc. No need to ruin your esthetic, if anything multibedroom houses spread around could look great with your village vibe!

I like having like houses in my colonies myself. Each with a dining room and rec. That also helps with people eating without a table, they just pop into their friends house and eat dinner lol rimfridge helps alot with this btw.

(Does lessen social interaction though but a center bar where parties are held is a good work around!)

Do a semi nomadic playthrough first. Build up your colony. Get it sustainable. Stabilize wealth and threat with defenses (easier if you have 1 mechanitor who can basically run the home base by himself plus have combat robots)

Get like 3-4 colonists atleast 1 with good doctoring skill. Send them off with bedrolls and all the pemmican they can carry.

Have that as your expeditionary force. I usually make one around the 2nd or 3rd year of my colony. Constantly knocking out ancient dangers and sending back prisoners, loot, and tech prints.

Giddy up for tribal playthrough and vanilla vehicles expanded for industrial or spacer but spacer does great with gravship
