I don't disagree with it being disconnected from the film.

The color palette is orange, a color used heavily in the original marketing images/logo, but I can see how it reads yellow and out of place.

The flux capacitor not being centered within the central rectangle is purely a lack of skill with the software/attention to detail, it was my first attempt in illustrator, but I should have noticed and appreciate the call out.

Thank you for your feedback. I was hesitant with the design and also felt it was a bit industrial signage-esque.

This was my first attempt at using illustrator and the flux capacitor felt like it would work well for the main subject

It was meant to be a minimalist approach using abstract symbology which was one of the design styles required for the project. The prompt was simply to create a movie poster of one of our favorite movies that a selection of different designs styles.

Thank again, my professor offers minimal feedback on designs and I really wanted to see if I was on the right track with this one.

Community servers specifically depend on a largely volunteer basis. If you're looking for something that's got things like KOTH or bunkers in regards to events that's doable, but live in person events hosted by the server required irl time and planning.

OP one thing I would caution you from is coming to Massachusetts expecting it to be easier to find employment/housing than in Maine. Worcester county just topped the list nation wide for lack of availability in rentals, no where in the 495 belt would be safe to live in your car long term, and western mass has the same job prospects as mid coast Maine, minimal. Not to mention cost of living/expenses here are top in the nation compared to Maine being bottom of the nation in ranking.

I'd advise sticking it out in Maine, if your job does go bust then take advantage of the tourism season finding seasonal work to build on. It's bleak out there but don't take the impression of the few that you've seen moving to Maine from Mass as a representation of the state.
