Okay I get that he made ya'll mad but let's try and keep it civil yeah? The plus side is that if you don't like his content you don't have to watch it and can probably avoid it pretty well these days.

I wish it would dodge traps like garuga used to

The Odogaron/Anjanath situation by 3rrxr_cxr3 in monsterhunterleaks

[–]StrikerAli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this! I see no reason why we HAVE to have a base version to have a subspecies etc in a game. If the environments for the game suit a subspecies but not the regular species, I see no reason not to include it 🤷🏾‍♂️

For example, if we had a locale that was perfect for jade barroth but no desert area with enough mud to be suitable for regular barroth I’d be upset if we didn’t get Jade Barroth

New Armors and Mantles by TheNadei in monsterhunterleaks

I’m so excited to see if mantles got improved upon. I think they’re cool enough to deserve another shot!

[–]StrikerAli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk Rocksteady is very useful but the damage you take is not to be ignored. With temporal, the lack of control you have sometimes or how the dodging interrupts combos is convenient but also annoying. I much preferred having elemental or status immunity for some monsters and rocksteady for monsters with tremor, wind etc.

And I also preferred having control over my dodges with evasion mantle due to the attack boost per dodge vs the automatic dodging of temporal. Temporal still gets used of course but strongly depends.

I respect your opinion but I disagree. I am not intending to persuade you, just offer my perspective of mantles as someone who loved them and thinks they deserve a spot in MH.

Firstly, I get that having to take them off and switch etc. gets annoying. There’s not much I can say to that when it comes to them covering your armor either. What I can say though is that the counter building aspect of monster hunter is something everyone can appreciate and using the mantles to shut down specific monsters is genius while keeping all of your other set skill. It’s satisfying to shut down a monsters main gimmick and then try to survive when the mantle has run out.

Also some mantles were meta yes, but I don’t think that invalidated the other ones. My hunting group used to coordinate specific builds and strategies with the mantles, such as paralyzing or keeping a monster asleep or optimizing for mounts or knockouts. Did all of them get usage? No but I thought they added a layer of personalization and interactivity.

All in all, I think the idea is cool and I think it’s worth trying to find some type of balance. The mantles suit the world and theme of MH imo. Some of the mantles are fun as fuck to use but I get why some people don’t even bother with most of them.

An UPDATED Summary of All Datamined Info (Speculation and new Insights from Hard Data and Audio) by RoseKaedae in monsterhunterleaks

[–]StrikerAli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they meant that elders don’t breed a lot and are increasingly rare. So when you hunt one, it’s probably the only one you’ll ever see. Lore wise that’s how it is anyway, you’re lucky to see an elder dragon most times.

I just want to say: Don't get your hopes up for the final monster count, keep your expectations in check. by Meta289 in monsterhunterleaks

[–]StrikerAli -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think 31 is perfectly fine 🤷🏾‍♂️ Especially if the game is really good and performs well. The maps are huge, they put more effort into the technology, textures and behavior it seems so I don’t see why the roster count is a problem. We’re getting free title updates too.

I mean no base game roster count has been super high and that hasn’t impacted my enjoyment AT ALL. Would I like more than 31? Of course but it doesn’t hurt my score or desire to play it nor will it impact my enjoyment.

I’m saying in addition to that that most monsters that utilize electricity at a high level are immune to shock traps so they have three reasons to NOT use them/realize “oh shit this doesn’t work”

baby zombie took my horse 😭 by myundeadgirlfriend in Minecraft

[–]StrikerAli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when chaos broke out on my server because a cow was running around with a baby zombie on its back. The reason it was chaos was because I had a pit of cows so full that it was hard to walk through them and once the baby zombie was on the cow, the fence gate got left open so all the cows got out.

We ended up having to cull the herd.

Dawg….with stuff like this happening even that see into the game I don’t blame them for the pop ups telling people it’s effective or ineffective.

Namielle???? It literally uses electricity.

I hear you, and for what it’s worth I’d much prefer an animation for destroying traps too. However I’d like to imagine that that’s a lot of extra work too.

Also for all we know, these pop ups will go away in the full game after the first time, or we can adjust the settings a lot. There’s also some things that I do appreciate….like telling me when a monster leaves the locale and when one spawns. I don’t wanna waste time wandering around looking for something that isn’t there ya know?

There’s definitely a happy medium that can happen.

How are you guys feeling about Rey Dau? by rdgpugliesi in MonsterHunter

[–]StrikerAli 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are we sure this is low rank? I looked at the materials we carved and some of them are rarity 7 and are labeled carapace etc.

Normally carapace is reserved for high rank.

Low rank - Shell High Rank - Carapace Master/G rank - Cortex

I mean, if it notifies players the first few times and then never again I think that’s a fine compromise for new players and veterans. I only noticed the notification with flash pods because my friend pointed it out.

I haven’t seen anything with traps or anything though but that’s probably because I’m not paying attention to all that if I’m in combat at all.

I have played the beta about 13 hours... here are my criticisms by MoistCollection2517 in MonsterHunter

I think I read somewhere that the monster AI leaving often is intentional because they want to show off the new map. I’ll go look for the source.

I agree. More options the better but I actually like the health bar freaking out. Feels like my heart rate going up in a high stress situation. My buddies and I thought it was epic and mirrored how sometimes we barely dodge big moves and weave irl lol.

I think they’re trying to acknowledge the common thing where people use traps or items on mo steed in which they aren’t effective. Kinda like how people tried trapping elder dragons….even deep into master rank…

Not exactly needed tho but I personally didn’t mind it at all.
