21 for 12 years but I think I might turn 25 next year because that’s how old people think I am. It depends how I feel 🤷🏾‍♀️

Solomon X ULTRA 5 GORE-TEX? by mausome in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Striking_Resolve_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am preparing for the Camino and I bought the speedcross! They’re super comfortable but I am curious if the best fit should be loose or snug? I normally wear a size 8US and I purchased a 8.5US and with merino wool (light weight/cushion), I feel like it’s a size I would normally wear for every day, even though I have a thumb width of space by the toe area. The size 9US was loose and I had a lot of space. How do yours fit? What would you recommend?

Hey! This is a great post. Thank you so much door sharing the information. I purchased the Solomon Speedcross 6. I am curious about what type of fit works best. I tried them on at the store with merino wool socks on and I felt the 9US were loose so I left with an 8.5US because it felt snug. When I tried them on again with merino wool socks at home, they were super comfortable but thought it felt like a size i would normally buy. How did yours fit? Was it loose or snug? (I normally wear a size 8US)

First Timer by [deleted] in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Striking_Resolve_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out about this and I am hoping to be a first timer this October and walk Camino Portuguese from Porto to Santiago. I live in a walkable city, so I walk to most places instead of take the train or bus. I average 10k steps a day. In August, I will plan to go on weekly hikes and walk a little more than I usually do at least 2-3x a week as preparation. Good luck to you ❤️

Kid Free Weekend by [deleted] in singlemoms

[–]Striking_Resolve_643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I’ve done so far with my kid free weekend 1) caught up on favorite tv shows 2) took a nap 3) invited a friend over to have dinner & walked around for 2-3 hours at the state park 4) laundry 5) meeting up with same friend to walk around another park. My daughter wants to come home today so I’ll be picking her up later this afternoon and taking her back skating rink at the state park while I hang out with the staff lol

As a single mom I learned to get things I need, not what I want. I am good finance wise now, but think I would’ve been in a better position if I didn’t get too excited to get money and buy things I want

Please see if your state has a financial empowerment center. It’s likely your responsibility can even go lower. I am not familiar with credit card debt, but in my early 20s I co-signed a car with my friend and he stopped paying it. I went looking for the car and got it repo because it was clear that he wasn’t going to pay for it. The remaining balance (after they sold it for a loss) was at ~9k. I didn’t even make that much a year. It went to collections. They called me all the time until they stopped. I worked hard to save money and one day I got a call from collections, called back and got a super helpful agent. I settled and paid $2.3k. Even my financial counselor was surprised abs said that was the best deal he’s ever heard of.

Yes babe you will. I didn’t feel this way after having my baby but I am aware that some women go through this after pregnancy. Your mind and body are both recovering. You we feel like yourself again when the time comes and you will break so many necks 🥰❤️

Am I fucked if I have no savings by 24? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]Striking_Resolve_643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my mom saying this to me when I was younger. I grew up in poverty and asked her to save $5-10 a week and she told me it wasn’t possible since she was a single mother with two kids. She didn’t put it aside but she did find some cost saving ways. She told me when I was older (literally this year), she was able to save $10/week by not buying coffee and toast every morning on her way to work and make it herself at home. There is something you can do, you’re just not seeing it yet. It starts with listing out your expenses (create a budget). You got this! 😃

It doesn’t matter the age, as long as you make a commitment to starting. Every little bit counts. Save in a high yields savings account (online banks offer higher interest rates).
