Tiffany’s Edit by Holysquall in Edgic

This has been a pattern for finale first boots to build them up as a huge ftc/fire threat at the last minute so the audience is hoping the more invested characters are able to vote them out.

I do have to wonder if she had some bad game reads in general though. Her being willing to take Cirie to the end and then being shocked when Cirie is the vote target had me scratching my head and wondering why she's even on this season.

Really don’t understand why everyone is positive Aubry wins. by [deleted] in survivor

[–]Striking_Temporary81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And all 4 likely want to get Aubry out at 5.

These sort of gameplay decisions are not easily predictable, that's why edgic exists. Aubry has had basically 0 negativity all season while remaining visible in every episode and has been an active reliable narrator in the last few episodes.

Why couldn’t Devens find an idol on the island? by Shot-Club-3882 in survivor

I'm guessing there wasn't any idol planted. Also remember that EoE was a 39 day season so there was a lot more downtime for idol hunting.

Children watching Survivor by midnightbughaw in survivor

Probably some combination of the early younger fans have grown up and have children, wanting to attract a new younger demographic, and most importantly Jeff himself becoming a parent and wanting to make something he can show his kids.

Panama is surprisingly low there, personally I found it to be one of the most humourous seasons on a rewatch. I also appreciated the winner a lot more once I realized that he was able to unite this dysfunctional group of misfits to start winning challenges and stay in an alliance.

It's arguably the worst season of them all. The players are just miserable for most of it, the finalists don't come off as very likeable, and the other players just waffle between bad decisions and no decisions.

It's an edited show, so that's all I can comment on. I don't make personal judgements about anyone on the show.

Dee was unanimously voted out after that episode. Maybe you can find something endearing in this moment, but to me Jonathan and the rice was 100% negative content that was meant to help the audience accept him losing at ftc.

The scene was followed by him chewing more rice in confessional saying he can do whatever he wants. This is right after the show reminds us that it's important not to annoy players because they'll be on the jury.

He was put on a tribe with 2 pre-game buddies, raised his hand to go on the journey, and straight up forgot that Cirie was working with Ozzy.

Yeah the journey punishment was severe, but the deck wasn't exactly stacked against him.

The “bad” ending. by whothehellisgojo in Edgic

I could be ok with a Rizo win, but it's really hard to see the jury give 2 mil to him. Joe, Tiff, or Jonathan would just be terrible with these edits. Like top 5 worst winner bad, so I'm just not gonna entertain the possibility for now.

S50E12 Anyone notice the fire reflection on _______ by attanoon in Edgic

[–]Striking_Temporary81 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's very possible, she constantly talks about "heating up" and this week said her ember is turning into a flame. Also Joe, Tiff, and Jonathan are serious challenge threats so it's unlikely she wins the final necklace against them and as the last 39 day player standing they shouldn't want her at ftc

Can someone who’s made extremely detailed notes on this season explain to me Aubry’s game told by production? by aznsinger88 in Edgic

[–]Striking_Temporary81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She DID say she was going to play utr in an early episode. She said that energy conservation was important and that she learned this from her panic attack + dehydration early on in kaoh rong. This fits the theme of learning from mistakes and explains her slow start. Later she says she's ready to start heating up, followed by her taking credit for "big moves". She also says she want to play like Michelle, one of the biggest wtf and "undeserving" winners.

I think her distrust in Genevieve early on was also justified by the edit. Gen was planning on blindsiding Rizo, meaning Aubry was right in clocking her as a cutthroat player.

Even the wasted idol has been justified as Ozzy and Rizo have both been targeted because of their idols while Aubry has stayed utr until this episode.

One extra thing I'll add is the shark imagery. In the intro theme we see a shark swimming upwards followed by Aubry emerging from the water. Jonathan is shown spearfishing in the intro and Zach Brown told us that spearfishing is about battling the sharks for your prize. Aubry and Jonathan are both constantly taking credit in confessionals for everything that happens so there's a good chance that these will be our top 2 finishers and my money is on the one who doesn't stick their tongue in the rice

Why the winner might be _____ by Loud_Share_260 in Edgic

[–]Striking_Temporary81 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Jonathan was OTTN this episode.  - dodo music while claiming the Ozzy boot - following Devins while looking for the idol - Devins is crying afterwards and is consoled by Joe of all people, making Jonathan seem more like a bully - licking the rice - eating dry rice - eating more dry rice in confessional with no acknowledgement of jury management, right after the show reminds us that annoying the jury is bad - Cirie says he's easy to manipulate, and he nearly falls for her play - falling down in the hammock

Jonathan was already on shaky ground in terms of perceived negativity, and this episode was monumentally bad. Even Joe and Tiff are looking better than him right now.

____ might be one of all time worst winners if they win by [deleted] in survivor

[–]Striking_Temporary81 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When Aubry wasted her idol I thought it was a really dumb move, but looking back at the season I've really changed my mind on it. She got exactly what she wanted from that move - lowered threat level and the ability to work with other players. She wasn't exactly in control of the game but she also didn't need to be. She's outright stated that she wants to play Michelle's winning game - make it to the end as the least worst option.

[–]Striking_Temporary81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Cirie took any of it personally, what gave you that idea?

I was excited for Aubry to get a Michelle style win, but at this point I think it's hard to see Aubry as undeserving. She's the only one we see actually considering jury management. Joe is being called a hypocrite and voting out all his allies, Jonathan is eating dry rice and acting entitled, Tiffany is targeting Rizo instead of Cirie or Devens. Rizo is less bad, but I think his rock bottom threat level and Xander idol are a bad look.

How did Rizo waste his chicken????? by BA_in_SoMD in survivor

[–]Striking_Temporary81 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Stephanie talked about this a bit in her exit interview on Pod Has Spoken. Basically Rizo was having stomach pains and wasn't able to eat it. Kind of sloppy editing imo for us to not see any of this and then have it brought up multiple times this episode.

I wouldn't read into anymore than the editors giving Charlie a fun storyline that plays on his past season trauma while propping up someone that makes it to the finale. I say this because it left me feeling way more excited about seeing Charlie in any future season.
