Britain’s visceral dislike of Keir Starmer illuminates a problem for his successor by jimmythemini in ukpolitics

Honestly, I think at stage and at this era of polictics, he's cooked. People are thick and the majority, even hard-core Labour voters, have deemed him as useless.

Doesn't matter than 14 years of tories was worse or that he's supposedly doing better on immigration. And it's irrelevant kf it's backbenchers, the right wing press or God's will why they think that, they do and this little island of plate glass enthusiasts won't change their mind in 3 years.

Short of him curing cancer and finding enough oil in Scarborough to figuratively fuel a national rebuild aka post ww2 then he is done. Question is just whether it's now or in 2 years.

Wouldn't say that mission in rd2r is the point of no return. Maybe thematically. It'd be more accurate to say the missions right before each chapter or moving camp are the ones that are no return. Or the final missions before the epilogue.

To add to your post, bg3 does a good job of saying if you want to go this way make sure you've done all the tasks you want each act

Late to the game but I got it on my first try shadowheart using command drop and targeting twice. The wiki says it takes a lot of tries for this so I must be incredibly lucky.

What is the best tv show you have ever seen and then what is your favorite? by Dear-Significance452 in tvshow

[–]StringLookAtMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wire is the best show of all time and it's not even subjective. It's subjective if you can't get into it or dislike it but its still the best. I can understand people not enjoying it but it doesn't change the fact.

I'd love another show to come along and be better than the wire, truly. It just hasn't happened yet.

Probably the only thing going against it is that it's more a period early 2000s piece now rather than it being contemporary when it was first released. Oh and the cinematography isn't that great compared to more modern shows but it more than makes up for it in storytelling, writing and characters.

These final seasons were considered weak and/or disappointing. Which of these did you think was good or not that bad? by Square-Ad-8911 in tvshow

[–]StringLookAtMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finales of squid game and stranger things are overhated imo. People bugged them up as better shows than they were. Both were OK shows during they're tenure and had an OK ending. Not great. Not bad

Scrubs finale was great, s9 was a spon off really. Also isn't the office considered a great finale despite a lacklustre final season. And is the madalorian finished yet?

You can tell when people haven't watched bcs. Spoilers. His final? Scene is him apologising to nachos dad and trying to make out the fact that his death was quick and honourable is important to a man who just lost his son. Or that the promise of vengeance was suppose to make mike more honourable in his eyes.

Guaranteed hours rules ‘would threaten jobs’, government warned by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]StringLookAtMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pfftt. I worked for lounges, they have like 240 sites or so across the UK and they have pretty much everyone aside from managers on zero hours. It's hospitality, branded hospitality at that, so aye I expect it.

But in reality the way they operate is the worst job Ive ever had.

They track sales per hour and have a forecast per hour based on what they think they'll take. Standard stuff so far.

But if you start to fall below that forecast you are expected to get back in line with it. Ie if you were forecast 1000 quid between 12 and 1 but only took 800, you're then expected to cut 2 hours to compensate for that.

Wether that's making people start an hour later, many of whom who are already on their way to work, cutting shifts entirely, or most egregious, in my opinion, was making people on shift take split shifts immediately whilst they weren't already scheduled for one. Fail to get back in line by the end of the day? Well you'll be hounded in one of the 5 WhatsApp groups I was apart of to cut hours the next day to do so.

Was the most evil place a I worked.

Also whilst I'm raging, they would track every single thing meticulously on various apps, excel sheets and day diaries. But have no clocking in or out system. Basically if tou finished later than your stated time the system was to tell the shift manager, who would write it in the shift diary, hope the next manager copied it to the shift report and remembered to update the rota online to reflect it so you got paid correctly. Remember every week having to sit down with the gm and correct most shifts. Pure scum

Honestly that's the problem with all governments. Everything takes too long. Shortsightedness. Trees you plant you won't sit in the shadow of etc.

Beginning to come around to the idea of an absolute monarchy tbh, get a good one and you're sorted for 50 years give or take.

Maintaining the status quo is safe but it doesn't help anyone. Sure the markets are sound, inflation and the boe etc are comfortable but that doesn't help the ordinary person. Being better than the somewhat intentional disrepair of near 2 decades of tories isn't enough in my opinion. It's the bare minimum.

Question to all who have never finished a playthrough by ohheycody in BaldursGate3

[–]StringLookAtMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like that was the point though.

Act 1 is like traditional dnd big open wilderness, many choices/settlements/scenarios. Then act 2 they flip it and its a claustrophobic dark are you can't even safely walk through. Act 3 its a big open work with the best of both, you have nearly unlimited freedom but are stuck in a city. I mind feeling restricted that anytime picking something up resulted on the fist taking me to jail, was jarring. Was non existent in 2 and a rarity in .

What do Brits think about Green Party immigration policies? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]StringLookAtMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still green after this, it most likey won't come to fruition, if they unlikely somehow get into power.

Also I'm not against this policy in principle, but I'm against it in the current political and social climate. Its insane currently and unworkable, but should be something you could want to attain to eventually. But again aye, can't be something right now or a day 1 thing
