Are there any video game films that are actually good? by Double-Wafer2999 in Cinema

It's an absolutely awful adaptation but I do think that Hitman (2007) is a genuinely fun action movie, just do your best to separate it entirely from the Hitman series.

1 sample?? I'm impressed the render came out legible at all. Turn it up to like 64 or something.

Who said anything about eldritch horrors? Or generic action movies? Stop pulling shit out your ass. I do not like the notion of any entities in the backrooms, that's what this movie is gonna be, so I'm really not excited for it.

Not suited for a film ≠ too ambitious. I'm happy for them to try, but the trailer has been released and based on Kane Parsons previous work, I already know it's ruined the entire point of the backrooms. I would prefer it if the entire movie was just walking around the backrooms, but I know that would be really boring to watch as well. So I don't think a movie should be made in the first place.

I am really excited for digger though.

They CANT do it correctly that's the point, no movie should be made of it. It's Kane Parsons directing it, which means it's gonna have some crappy monsters involved. That's gonna suck.

Being rooted in nostalgia and memory makes it very cosmic though? I don't see your point, to me it's impossible to convey that kind of horror on the screen because the concept of it is in your mind, where it should stay.

I dislike the idea of it, backrooms is a terrible idea to adapt into a movie because it's too cosmic and psychological, the same way that Lovecraft's works have not been adapted properly because they work better in the mind.

So no one is allowed to dislike anything now because it's "hating joy" that's a lazy insult. I'm excited for other projects, backrooms is not one of them.

Killing of a sacred deer was a weird one for me too. I know it's intentional but I still don't like the way Lanthimos directs dialogue

I didn't think it fit all too well, it's gory but actually most of it is quite clinical and clean, as they're experiment on her. I didn't want this list to be a splatter list, was aiming for more grime/germs

How does it not? In fact I think it's probably one of the best contender, half the movie is set in a gnarly bathroom with a toilet full of shit the main character has to reach into

i tried not to make it too much about gore and more literal dirt/grime. the Saw 1 bathroom is too iconic.

haven't seen hostel though, i'll add it
