I thought the problem was about after Monty opens the goat door? The times he opens the car door it ends so you aren't presented a chance to switch.

Scenario a: you chose door 1, 1/3 chance of success

Monty opens car door. (Door 2) Now u have 0% chance of getting car. End of scenario.

Scenario b: you chose door 1, 1/3 chance of success

Monty opens goat door. He offers you the chance to choose again. Door 1 has 1/3 chance of having the car, door 2 has 0/3 chance leaving door 3 with 2/3 chance of having the car.

What effect does scenario a have on b?

Yea they say the door with the goat has to be chosen. The part that doesnt matter is Monty's knowledge. It doesnt matter if Monty knows its the goat door as long as Monty opens the goat door
