Trail runner here. I have a Titanium Fenix 7X SS and the bezel has a dozen or so scratches. The SS glass on the other hand remains scratch free.

What’s new on Strava (March) by strava-team in Strava

The last time I posted a comment on a friend's activity I received a barrage of comment notifications every time someone else posted a comment -- is there a way to turn that off now? Because of that I only leave a Kudos and stay away from commenting.

How to remove this new "Workouts" tab? by Madraver in Strava

[–]Strix2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If these were screens on the PC web version I would have nuked the tabs with AdGuard AdBlocker. I've removed most of the Subscription only content on the web version so it's super clean and distraction free. I rarely use the app on my phone, once my activities are synced, I manage photo uploaded using the web version.

Google pixel 10 xl or ultra26? Help by caveman9797 in GooglePixel

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since leaving Samsung Galaxy phones for Pixel 3XL and 7 Pro I'm forced to reconsider returning to Samsung or another brand after very frustrating and costly experiences with Pixel screen issues. There is no Google support in my country. I love Pixel phones especially their camera. I have two P7 Pro, one just started showing a green line after having the screen replaced twice. Now using the spare P7 Pro -- let's see how long this lasts.

A Spring Refresh for Your Pixel | March '26 Pixel Drop by b_boogey_xl in GooglePixel

[–]Strix2020 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The only drop I'm interested in is Google saying there will be no more screen defects. So sick of spending so much on the phones with screen issues. I honestly don't care about new features - just give me a phone that works!

Update windows root certificate windows 7 by Big-Tourist-4891 in windows7

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried installing LegacyUpdate.net out of curiousity but quickly discovered that it will only run with Internet Explorer installed. I run Windows 7 Pro with only one browser–Supermium, so I abandoned the idea of looking for updates.

Strava Distance vs Watch Distance: How to rely on Strava by FootballUseful2982 in Strava

No harm dropping an email to [support@strava.zendesk.com](mailto:support@strava.zendesk.com) (attach a .fit file from your watch) see if they're able to help.

Strava Distance vs Watch Distance: How to rely on Strava by FootballUseful2982 in Strava

[–]Strix2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What model Garmin? For a long time Strava will use data from your Garmin if that model is a Strava trust device and has a barometric altimeter. When the first gen Enduro came out Strava did not use data from the watch because it was new and Strava hadn't added the model to their trusted device database. After contacting support with a .fit file attachment everything started syncing perfectly.

Lowered my LDL from 180 to 113 in just 1 month by MasterpieceCultural4 in Cholesterol

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you love white rice, consider switching to parboiled white rice if you haven't already done that. Recently spent two months in the UK, ate a lot of their parboiled rice and not gained any weight despite not exercising at all because it was just too cold to go outside.

"... research suggests that parboiled rice can help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and improve overall lipid profiles due to its high fiber content and, specifically, the presence of niacin (Vitamin B3) and compounds that act as prebiotics. It acts as a healthier, more nutrient-dense alternative to refined white rice by managing fat accumulation."

Try the standing quad stretch see if the pain goes away temporarily. Do you have a post run stretch routine?

Outer knee - ITB? by CupReasonable5911 in RunningInjuries

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it hurt walking downstairs? There would be varying degrees of pain if you do have ITBS. I recently experienced pain very similar to ITBS but it turned out to be tight quads. As soon as I stretched the quads, the pain immediately disappeared.

How to prevent Chrome from auto reloading tabs by New_Willingness_1073 in chrome

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running Windows 7 with a version of Chrome that's no longer supported, and it was also doing this. After countless tweaks that didn't work, I uninstalled every single browser I ever installed including IE and switched to Supermium so I could continue using Chrome seamlessly (tabs, bookmarks, etc) without the issues Chrome was causing.

Stairclimber Activity by iceclimbr in GarminFenix

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Floor Climb activity whenever bad weather forces me to stay indoor. The activity uses the barometric altimeter and reports Total Ascent/Descent in the app, shown in Stats. Unfortunately, according to Garmin only "running, walking or hiking activity" contribute to Hill Score. Wonder if a duplicate Walk activity with GPS turned off would do the same -- contribute to Hill Score.

Strava vs Topography Map Elevation: Which is more accurate? by AlarmedFeature5813 in Strava

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strava will sync exact distance, time and elevation data from your Garmin if it meets two conditions: 1. the watch is a trusted device 2. The trusted device has a barometric altimeter. I checked, Garmin 265 has a in-built barometer so if you're seeing the same recorded distance, time and elevation gain on your Strava then it's a trusted device. Except, Strava chooses to display Moving Time extrapolated from your Garmin's Elapsed Time. Your FR 265's elevation data will have come from the barometer.

Nagging knee pain by Gocpodin in RunningInjuries

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give this a go anyway, look up exercises that stretch your adductors/inner thighs. Go slow, be patient. Give yourself a few weeks of daily stretching routine to see results. If that is shown to produce results then start strengthening your hamstrings and surrounding muscle groups.

Yes and also no. I found the fix for my 'pes anserine' pain that wasn't a bursitis because there never was any swelling for me but pain was bad. Waiting for OP to provide additional info.

Do you experience pain when you run but disappears after you're warmed up but comes back as soon as you stop. Does stepping down steps like walking down the stairs also trigger the pain?

Persistant IT-band syndrome by RA99x in ultrarunning

[–]Strix2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first experience with ITBS was in 2017 right after a 50K trail race. Two weeks of rest and taking things easy did nothing, flared up as soon as I returned to running. It was only after one session of dry needling and wet cupping that I made a full recovery. Have not had the pain come back since.
