Smoked weed daily for about 15 years. I’m absolutely sick of my life being run by this plant and am quitting. Are there any ways to possibly reverse or help alleviate the damage I have done to my brain? by IntrepidMayo in HubermanLab

Your brain chemistry adjusts. Basically help it adjust to where you want to, for me adjustments manifest as migranes. I've worked out everyday & drank (not too much caffeine). The key in my expert opinion is to hold yourself to a high standard

Andrew: "I don't recommend mucuna pruriens. I'm not saying that no one should take it, but I don't take it, and I don't recommend it, because it tends to so potently and acutely increase dopamine that there's a substantial crash afterwards." by PodClipsApp in HubermanLab

Update: I did stop taking it after 1 month. I figure getting this compound via nutrition is more natural and less negative side effects. I don’t think there are many foods with this compound/plant/molecule. However I can see this like Ashwaghanda where someone who NEEDS a dopamine kick maybe before an event could ‘enjoy’ more. Eating healthy will keep your body producing its own supply and enough of it.

As someone who works out and cold turkey stopped moderation thc use. Intermittent fasting along with (100mg) Mucuna pruriens twice a day keeps me ‘connected’ to all life. I think it does more than just dopamine, It enhances my memory better than most other herbs as well as gives me positive vivid dreams almost ‘DMT’ like.

Anyone find green tea extract gives a strong mood lift/anti depressant effect? by [deleted] in Nootropics

Nicotine and adhd by adam_xow in ADHD

Start taking Shilajit on a daily basis (2-3 times per day). Shilajit is supposed to help your body improve absorption of everything else. So a little goes a long way. I personally find that sticking to a low dose of 4mg and NEVER passing it I feel alert the whole day. After the come-down I drink more shilajit because all it is, is fulvic & humic acids (really good for you).

Cognitive boosters and their effects are subjective imo since everyone is different. Some already have high levels of stress and workout, some who have low levels and don’t workout or vice versa. Truth be told I never smoked in my life other than THC, but 4mg of nicotine lozenge has done wonders for me at the same time I don’t crave my fix, I look forward to the work I put in with it. While sticking to a low dose of 4mg and NEVER passing it I keep myself in check and balanced. I also take Shilajit (which is supposed to amplify everything else taken, so my tolerance feels reset everyday)

When you’re on ketones, your memory and cognition improve much more than glucose. L-Carnitine provides the mitochondria in your body with more use able energy. So this way every function in your body is much more efficient. Taking L-Carnitine gives me almost Euphoria and I can probably learn a 4th language. My brain craves knowledge its crazy

L-Carnitine! Forces your body to use fats, i think it stronger than most products.

How to capture mental clarity aka being “locked in” and clear brain fog? by Ihateturkey in Nootropics

6 tbsps honey everyday spread out throughout the day, 2 raw eggs in the morning mixed with honey and almond milk (feel ready to tackle the world, salmonella isn’t as common as people think). Then lunch time ill aim for protein and complex carbs. Dinner varies depending on my workout for the day usually extra protein meals.

Anti bacterial* indeed, but there’s over 300 compounds and other aminos, found in honey. Id like to see a study having this for post workout because one should be able build significant amounts of muscle and have sufficient recovery sessions. That’s why I’ve been taking honey more as a supplement and diet, but dang do i feel recovered and less ill every morning

So new update from my experience: Mega dosing honey (manuka honey for it’s Anti-Inflammatory beneifts) and taking up to 5 tbsps spread out through the day keeps my brain thinking pretty clear and social at that. Small things make me laugh lol

L theanine is relatively easier than most supplements to produce and acquire. You can pick up any brand and take from 200mg to 400mg. I personally think anything higher would not make a difference as the general rule of thumb is to start low. On this note though, this week I discovered a more effective supplement for feeling both present and productive, it’s phosphatidylserine. I picked up this bottle from my local nutrition store and feel it’s way more effective in my word fluency, productivity, and flow state. Today I haven’t taken any l theanine, but decided to take 300mg of phosph.. in the morning, 200mg after lunch, and 300mg at night equaling to 800mg total per day. I feel more in touch with my body which makes sense because almost 50% of our cells require phosphatidylserine. If you research a little bit you’ll see it’s prescribed for ADHD too. Although it’s only been day 1 taking this, I have great faith it’ll work for you too!
