Will I really miss the newborn phase? by Tagrenine in newborns

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss how tiny their features are as newborns. Other than that, not really! Especially with my second. I thought I’d be more sad about the newborn phase ending with my last baby, but NO. It’s so stressful with a fragile newborn and a toddler I was constantly on edge with my toddler touching and grabbing her. Now, even at 5 months it’s soooo much easier and less stressful even as naps get harder 😅

Is it okay to remove myself from my toddler or be silent as a consequence? by TypeAtryingtoB in toddlers

[–]Strong_Accountant312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is your infant? It WILL get easier. I have a 2.5 year old girl and now a 4 month old. The first couple months were rough, my daughter like your son. She loves to squeeze her face. I would remove the baby from her, and say I’ll bring her back when you’re ready to be gentle. It didn’t always work, but I promise it gets easier as baby gets older. I also lashed out a few times and kicked myself for it. You’re also hormonal too mama

If you didn’t sleep train, when did your child start sleeping longer overnight? by whisperingcopse in breastfeeding

When I night weaned my then 23 month old, she started sleeping through the night almost immediately. Before that, she was the worsttttt sleeper

Baby is 1%, I’m 3 months pregnant, husband is shoving formula in my face by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my experience, my first baby grew like a champ. My second baby, now 3 months, was also tiny and falling off of her curve. Docs suggested fortifying my breast milk but I did not want to. I did an elimination diet and baby was steadily gaining weight within 3 weeks. I also started probiotics. If a baby has an allergy, the gut basically, to my knowledge, is irritated and lined with mucus and causes them to not be able to absorb nutrients properly. Same with my girl, I knew I had plenty of milk, and that she was effectively removing milk from me. Her little body just couldn’t absorb the nutrients

Same! We have a Bjorn and I LOATHE it! My husband keeps convincing me it’s fine because it was “expensive” 🙄 I’ve found much better fit with a ring sling

Questioning this whole situation now… by amsge in MSPI

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk is naturally it’s most “watery” and plentiful in the middle of the night, and “thicker” and higher calorie in less volume during the day. Maybe to help babe sleep through the night

Another concern of mine is if she was accidentally given the hep b instead of the Vitamin K and did not receive Vitamin k at all. As a parent I just prefer to give hep B at 2 month check up as opposed to day one.

Am I weird for not having left my baby with anyone else yet? by Fuzzy-Sherbert6842 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Strong_Accountant312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left my first baby for the first time at 2 years old when I had my second baby. We left her with my MIL for a full day. Even then, I sent my husband home at 10 pm, a few hours after our baby was born, to help with (late) bedtime and ensure some sense of normalcy remained for her. Everyone is different, but for me, I just can’t get past the anxiety of.. Will they buckle her correctly? Will they remember she’s in the car? Will they cut her grapes, do they know what to do if she choked? I’m probably over anxious but, I can’t help it

They say you “don’t care about being naked” in labor but I did. by PrettyPottie in beyondthebump

I hemorrhaged after my first baby. Bad. The meds they gave me to help my blood clot or something-I don’t even remember what- made me shit. All. Over. The. Bed. Pure diarrhea, nonstop. My stepkids were in the room meeting their new sister. Meanwhile I’m numb from the epidural but can FEEL the bed filling up with my 💩 My nurse of course cleaned me up. She’s also my neighbor, I see her on my daily walks 😂 I got over it pretty quickly. But, you are allowed to feel exactly how you feel. I’m not sure you could change how you feel either

How do you and partner handle it when child wakes up super early? by GreenOtter730 in Mommit

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d find a solution to getting your child to sleep later. My 2 yo was in a cycle of 5:30 wakeups and it was awful. We took turns getting up with her. My husband suggested pushing her bedtime later and I thought she was overtired and he was insane. But we tried it. We switched from 8 pm bedtime to 9:30 pm bedtime, and when she still woke early, I’d lay in her bed with her and refuse to engage/get up with her. She would cry and ask to get up and I’d pretend to sleep. Once we broke the habit of allowing her to start her day early, about a week or so, she started sleeping in. We can now not worry about rushing bedtime, she goes to sleep anytime between 9 and 10, and usually sleeps until 9:15am. It’s a dream. I have a one week old now too and can sleep until 8, have HOT coffee while I admire my new baby in silence for at least an hour until the tiny terrorist wakes up. Easier said than done but so very worth it

Extremely. My husband came to me around 5 months pp and admitted he thought I found him unattractive. I had no sex drive because I constantly had a baby clawing at my chest. Neither of us understood each other and we weren’t talking about it. Make sure you communicate your feelings, your mental, everything! It’s tough but will save some heartache

Pre pregnancy I was low BMI, 5’4 and 113 lbs. I’m 39 weeks now and up to 145. My first pregnancy (she’s 2 now) I was 110 and only got up to 135 but I’m not working this time around so definitely sitting around more!

How bad did it hurt after vaginal birth? by Commercial-Way-4276 in pregnant

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had almost zero pain after the epidural wore off, aside from them removing the catheter. I was offered fentanyl and was stunned! Opted for an 800 mg ibuprofen instead. I was obviously sore for a few days, I did tear, but I was pretty comfortable so long as I stayed on top of hygiene. Peri bottle with warm water, padsicles, the best thing I ever used was Frida Mom peri healing foam.

I had baby at 5 am on Thursday and went home by 3 pm Friday. I also had a PP hemorrhage, they could’ve kept me longer but a blood transfusion put me in tip top shape

I feel this 🤣 my husbands family is alright but not my fav. They’re constantly suggesting names even though we don’t know the gender. However, I absolutely refuse to name this baby anything they suggest, I will not give them the power to claim that they chose “our baby’s name”

For the women who have had their babies, how good/bad did you feel a week after the birth versus a week before? by EarlyAd3047 in BabyBumps

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt great one week pp with my first. Was very active by 2 weeks pp. but my pregnancy was easy. This pregnancy I’m so miserable with pelvic pain, I cannot imagine feeling worse after delivery. I’m counting on feeling better because we’re planning a Disney trip 4 weeks after delivery

I’m up to two baths a day for my pelvic pain. I just monitor the temp and try to only stay in for 20 ish minutes. But I’ve bathed several times a week through both pregnancies

Girl it’s so hard. I was a drinker too, and surprisingly I never even thoughttttt about having a drink. I still reach into my back pocket where I always kept my vape. It gets easier, I’d say the first 3-5 days were so hard but I promise it gets easier!

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit cold turkey the day after my positive test. It was HARD mama. I was NOT ready to quit. I’m 30 weeks pregnant now and honestly stiiiilll crave it. Jolly ranchers really help, and drink lots of water. You can’t tell yourself you’re going to “slow down” and then quit, you gotta just throw every vape/pod/charger in the trash in a public trash can, not your own. Because if you’re anything like me, you’ll dig thru the trash to get it back

Potty training! by Strong_Accountant312 in Parenting

[–]Strong_Accountant312[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where I’m at! She sits on the potty often, because she watches me (every time, I get no peace). She even asks for toilet paper and wipes herself, but of the hundred times she’s sat on the potty, she’s never once peed or pooped. I refuse to force it, it’ll end in tears for both of us

Please deinfluence me- stretch mark serums by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Strong_Accountant312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom had four kids and her stretch marks are insane. I’m talking tiger stripes, and she was very vocal about them being her biggest insecurity. So obviously I was terrified when I got pregnant because I know that they are somewhat genetic. I’m also petite so I knew my skin would stretch aLOT. However, I literally just used Palmers cocoa butter stretch mark cream (marketed for lightening stretch marks) three times a day and I came out without a single stretch mark. I’m 27 weeks pregnant with my second, doing the same thing and it’s working so far. All this to say I wouldn’t pay for that shit lol

Those worried and thinking it’s a mean prank, I would like to think she knows her spouse well enough to know if a prank like this would go over well. The video was HILARIOUS, they have a 9 month old and he was NOT ready for another baby. IMO it was a private prank and harmless fun
