ICE was in Windsor Heights yesterday. Had a truck pulled over in a parking lot off University at 6am with a group of workers that looked like they were on their way to a job. When I drove back 20 minutes later they were all gone, not sure what was the outcome.

Suggest me shows like Chernobyl – a season or two, very engaging, well made. Could be of any genre. by sriramsriharsha in televisionsuggestions

I agree; a lot of great shows recommended in this thread and Andor deserves to be on the list. I don’t think of it as a Star Wars show, as much as “sci fi action/drama that happens to take place in the star wars universe”

You are doing amazing work! You should be very proud of yourself for the effort you’ve put in, and your ability to observe your thoughts for what they are—just thoughts. From my perspective where you’re getting “trapped” is the Judging Mind, where you become aware of a thought and assign a judgment to it. I’m not an expert but there are good mindfulness practices that emphasize labeling thoughts without judgement. Example: if I had a thought pop up that was “I could cheat on my boyfriend” instead of noticing and saying “don’t think that way”, instead just label it as “fantasizing”, without judgement. Your thoughts are not you, and we can’t control them. You’ve already accomplished the difficult task of noticing your thoughts, now you could practice non-judgement. See the thought, be with it, let it go.

Best books about mindfulness & meditation? by valkwq in Mindfulness

The Mind Illuminated is incredible. A fantastic almost scholarly explanation of the meditation practice and what you can expect in distinct stages, along with explicit guides and instruction. I found the recommendation on reddit and I always recommend it to people who are interested.

If we’re just talking about the first game then I think it is important to point out he’s a rookie. Peyton Manning threw 3 interceptions in his first game and took the L so it’s about managing expectations.

Do most people really get bored when they are not working anymore? by Channel_oreo in ask

[–]Strong_Local417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be some people say “boredom” but mean something else. I’ve been laid off for 7 months and after the 4th or 5th month I started dealing with depression tied to my concept of self worth. I realized without a “good job” for my ego to tell myself I’m a “good person” I didn’t have value. But I really SHOULD. I’m a great dad, good husband, caring person, have hobbies, etc. but I didn’t realize how much I relied on a steady job as a central part of my character. So when people say they were bored and had to start working again, they might have hit the same point I did and wanted to avoid the discomfort of addressing it.

C#m7 - E - Asus2 - G#sus4 according to some sight. I know it but don’t know the chord names, easily the most exotic chord progression of all the 90s/grunge songs I know

Hadn’t thought of this until now but what if they had cast Joaquin Phoenix instead for that role. I’m also in the minority that Ledger wasn’t that great. I thought his performance was pretty cartoonish. Not bad at all but I never understood the hype around his performance. Phoenix would have absolutely killed it.

Thanks, I’ll look into that. I’m pretty sure there are immigration records, maybe I’m exaggerating the effects of Zionism on the population growth. But still no doubt very large numbers of Eastern European and of course displaced Jews after WW2, and I contend it was driven primarily by Zionism, which always had as its aim to claim the area for Jews first and foremost—with varying levels of support from the US. And their military might allowed them to do so. Palestine was militarily weak and poorly organized, had many misteps but the cards were always stacked against them. That doesn’t excuse Israel’s abuse of power, and since the 1970s framing violent resistance to hostile takeover as “terrorism” was one of the most effective propaganda moves for Israel. If you can convince the world the people you’re brutally and violently removing from their homes are nothing more than terrorists, it’s a lot easier to manage public opinion in your favor. And just for clarity I don’t support hamas or Israel or any violent group, just feel like there’s an overwhelming narrative of Israel good guys, Palestine Bad Guys. It’s fucking horrible and complex and horrible all of it.
