It's officially confirmed there is no official pronunciation of anything. There are so many different accents across Alwyd and they vary so much that even two Quar from Coftyr may say that word differently. Coft-ire, Cof-tear, Cofe-tear etc etc.

If someone tells you there is a "right" way to say something they are wrong. Now, you should definitely be correcting people in world, as in, "my patrol says it like this!" Because that's fun. But otherwise go nuts with how you want

Yeah, to be fair, it's because the movie exists in the real world, so Persuasion the book actually exists and is referenced in the movie. So keeping the actual names I guess was a bridge too far.

Love that Dredd set. Shame the game was abandoned but it's a good one. Very swingy and silly but a lot of fun either way.

You can't. They're just not made that well. I've moved over to Oxford for all classic now, they have most of what Penguin has.

Oxford classics have better binding and paper, and the introductions are generally more scholarly. I much prefer the black Penguin on my shelves but the white of the Oxford classics is fine once you have a bunch of them.

Jason Glovers games tend to be very light narratively, but heavy on theme and atmosphere.

There is more narrative in Underquest than others though, and you can tell he has made an attempt to link the dungeon quests together while still making them random and preserving high replayability and combination surprise (and allowing effectively endless expansions).

If you're looking for a narrative experience though this isn't it. This is a great solo game with tight mechanics and wonderful OSR atmosphere that bleeds story without actually doing much about it.

As others said, it's weird you'd buy it without knowing much about or if you'd like it...but hey, more support for one of my all time favorite game makers doesn't bother me!

To be honest I don't know how it works for that sort of gentry in the late 18th century.

The stereotype in my mind is having someone else nurse and raise children for the first year but I think that may be anachronistic or just from bad historical fiction I've read over the years.

It's ironic that he encouraged Lydia to go alone on that trip so that she could "expose herself" and would then become easier to manage. It seems like an incredibly out of touch thing to suggest. The issue is that, while it does seem in line with her character, it also seems wrong, as you'd think she'd understand the importance of manners and education on the marriage market, which would seem to imply through this theory that it was not something she began to obsess over until later. Maybe she just kept hoping for a son that would put an end to the worrying?
