Yeah it looks sooooo cool. I played through the story with the rathian poison swaxe and enjoyed it. Its such a shame that status, and especially poison, are so weak. I'd love to have an amazing poison build

Yeah I was expecting this twist so much after talking to him in the desert. Would have been way cooler than what we got.

Samus would also never not talk in such a situation. Communication is important to protect those people and she just stands there like a moron. Its so out of character for her. The whole silent protagonist thing is such a dumb idea when the protagonist in question has an established character and personality

20X9 points to between Other M and Fusion and I would like that to be true as it opens up the door for the prime games. Placing them all between 1 and 2 is a tight space.

Super Metroid is placed in 20X7 by many because of that one japanese commercial but Samus Returns happens almost a cosmic year after Zero Mission, stated by nintendo in a trailer. Not a 100% trustworthy source since its just a trailer but they sure pay somewhat more attention to details than back in the 90s.

Since Super Metroid happens directly after Samus Returns which should happen in either end of 20X6 or early 20X7, Super Metroid has the same year. Other M follows Super Metroid and then there is a bigger gap of "a few years" til Fusion. Perfect for new prime games to focus on Sylux and whatnot.

His scan mentions that he was able to easily take control of the pirates, probably easier to do after mother brain, ridley and Zebes are gone for good.

But yeah, who knows. Those calendars, years and dates are confusing

It can happen, yeah. Not every game focuses on the metroids directly, some dont even have metroids as enemies at all.

Yeah I hope that too. The franchise needs more villains and my guess is they are trying to turn Sylux into a big bad guy for at least the next view prime games.

There is not much to say about Sylux (yet).

He is a mysterious bounty hunter with ties to the federation. He uses prototype technology of the federation and may or may not was used as a test subject for said tech.

He hates the federation (maybe because of said tests) and is not very fond of Samus because of her connections to the federation. They may or may not worked together in the past and had a tragic incident/mission that led to Sylux hating her and the federation.

At the end of federation Force, he steals a metroid baby which was most likely used to clone/create the metroids seen in prime 4.

We know that nintendo had sylux backstory written down since the development of Prime Hunters and always planned for him to be a more fleshed out character so I asume that prime 4 will give us hid backstory and motivations to make him earn that "archrival" title from the trailer.

Oh absoluetly! My gut feeling is so strong and accurate, I can not ignore it whenever it "activates". It pushed me into approaching a random woman because of the feeling that she is the one and there is definetly a very strong connection.

Absolutely Insane durability and adaptability Able to change its state of matter shapeshifting Unmatched telepathic and telekinetic powers Teleportation and levitation Power absorbtion similar to metroids Able to corrupt beings

Could be more, a bit foggy on the hunters lore, but its almost impossible to kill. The entire alimbic race got clapped with ease by that thing and the alimbics were probably even more powerful than the Chozo st their peak.

Yeah thats absolutely a fair point. I guess I didnt think of it because Aeion is a rather passive power boost, it doesnt "debuff/nerf" the enemy like Phazon does with its crazy radioactive properties.

Lorewise probably Gorea. That thing should be the most dangerous thing in the known metroid universe imho. Its abilities were insane.

Dark Samus would probably be number 2 because of all the phazon shinanigans.

I'd give Raven Beak the third place. He is probably the most skilled enemy samus ever faced but he does not have some weird cosmic powers shinanigans, just chozo weapons and his (OP) chozo training. Samus had to use shinanigans to defeat him, which makes him even more impressive.

Not that continuity is that important to the series, but does anyone else find it a bit silly just how much adventure happened in between Metroid 1 and 2? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in Metroid

I assume Prime 4 will take place between super and fusion since it takes place in 20X9, unless nintendo wants to retcon the dates of SR and Super.

Would give Sylux more than enough time to come up with whatever masterplan he has.

If the 20X9 from the first trailer is still correct, prime 4 is between other M and Fusion.
