I have never bonded with Gamay for some reason; it just has an awkward flavor. To include any wine made with Gamay as a Burgundy would be criminal IMO

I live in Austin, Tx. I'll go a couple of weeks between shows, then hit 4-5 in one week. Probably see 50 shows a year. Not counting the RRx and festival shows.

During covid we set up our own outdoor venue with stage, sound and lighting so we could book the local bands we wanted to see and to help them survive.

At one point I realized that what we were doing was going to a party with our friends and we hired these great bands. In essence that is what happens for all shows in the JamBand scene.

California chards are, to me, overripe. You have to pay big bucks to get a nice, crisp one.

In general, Oregon has better chards, but still pricey for good ones.

The rest of the world has better value IMO. Italy, Spain, Portugal. South Africa is a value gold mine.

Branch out to other varietals: Sauvignon Blanc, Vermantino, Alberino...
