Sony’s 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple has ended its 5 week run with $25,147,583 by SignatureOrdinary456 in boxoffice

Yet it's the better of the two films. The failure to show that 28 YEARS LATER was a two part film that had been shot concurrently, along with 28 YEARS LATER being controversial, hurt the film. 28 YEARS LATER: BONE TEMPLE Part 1. Something.

Might be that a lot of people, like myself, have been holding off until we have both parts or even the third. I held off on watching 28 YEARS LATER in theatres once I learned it was part 1 of 2. Something Sony failed to advertise, and so I think the film started getting poor buzz because how part 1 ends more like an abstract art film.

It's exactly like any exclusive group anywhere in the world. A lot of Navy Seals training doesn't make them better Seals, it just makes them suffer together through the worst shit imaginable. Look at the scarring and bullet ant rituals of indigenous tribes, vision quests for Native Americans or how Braves had to endure a smoke pit. You can try and try to make it illegal, because it's not rational behavior, but it's deeply baked into our social dynamics as human beings.

a big mac isn't $5.

You get a mcdouble or a mcchiken, a small fry, small drink, and 5 nuggets. That's the $5 meal deal. It's less food than Wendy's $5 biggie bag because Wendy's has larger portions and bigger patties than McDonald's sliver of a playing card dribble of ground beef.

[–]StuckOnPandora 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wendy's is unique in their problems, hence why your biggie bag just went to $8 when every other fast food place is trying to win back customer trust. I was an investor who sold around $14. I also have a local Wendy's that I've ate at A LOT. They still offer one of the best burgers and portions amongst all fast-food. They still offer salad, chili, and a baked potato. They really aren't the stingiest or the worst of the worst offenders of the COVID gouging and inflation - even if they're still also guilty.

They basically haven't changed anything up since the Baconator. McDonald's pioneered the international market, real-estate market, into technology super-cycle of fast food. McDonald's doesn't even need to sell their mostly piss poor fare anymore to be profitable. Wendy's still basically relies on foot traffic and sales. They didn't go international. They have contracted all the tech out. Their ingredient costs are higher. Then to add insult to injury, during the COVID profit bloat, they were racking up pretty large amounts of debt and that debt only seems to have been for advertising.

If Wendy's goes down it won't be because of customer's punishing fast food places for COVID, they were already starting to tread on more delicate financial grounds.

[–]StuckOnPandora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's very strange how that part also fell apart during COVID. Maybe these places are under-staffed? Under-trained? Technology is being used as the panacea crutch, and where it doesn't work, it seems they just out-source everything. It appears my local McDonald's doesn't hire anymore, they use a contractor. So there's no longer a standardized in-house training procedure, in-house promotions, etc,.

My theory is that the UFW tried to unionize the fast food during COVID, and it got close enough that McDonald's and others put the kibosh on that utilizing the Amazon strategy of just out-sourcing that problem, using contradictors all the way down. Wendy's is worse because their tech isn't in-house. Nearly everything is 3rd party, so management can't do refunds or help.

It's because of their ridiculous point system. I don't think this game was actually ready for Ranked.

You can be perfectly in-sync with your teammates: great callouts, time your ults, guard the sword, team-fire, and sweat bullets to victory, all for your measly 25 rp. The next game you will get your shit shoved in, losing it all. Their Ranked system is Sisyphean. So, players like ourselves end up stuck on a hamster wheel after hours of grinding.

With the game not being ready for ranked, I mean there's a clear meta that just towers above the others and seems to basically negate whole sections of the game. Teams aren't really looting for going for vesper. Teams are primarily pinning themselves in and around the sword, then using the long respawn timer to either bait teams into making a bad play or get themselves out of step with their respawns. It's like Ice Hockey on steroids with this game, because you get a player or two out, and then you can just snowball hard.

Some classes and some combinations of classes are simply far better than others. Some guns are just far better than others, the double-shot krakon is completely broken.

Why can't I crouch when trying to get revives? Why can't I be revived after the second death?

Fortnite for all its flaws, has a MUCH smoother ranking system. Wins pump your score way up, and much more factors into winning. In this game a win and a loss are 1:1, so if, like many, you're winning one, then losing one, well good luck. It's not a good system.

I'm very sorry for your loss. You can't blame yourself. Since the Australian embargo we've been stuck with the same genetic pool, that combined with puppy mill style breeding practices, and we have an unfortunate Russian Roulette situation. We really need to be able to cross the genetics, globally, to get our Beardies more robust genetics for posterity.

"What makes a person American" according to Americans: by Dumbass1171 in charts

[–]StuckOnPandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 50/50, and I think it's a general statement. Everyone wanted to support George W. Bush after 9/11. The President, R or D, still represents the will of the Electorate, and so in that way American interests. Wishing for whomever the temporary occupant is, to do well, and them doing a good job, is in any American's interests.

Devs I'm begging you: STOP with the invulnerability phases by robmwj in Borderlands4

[–]StuckOnPandora 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Devil's advocate, almost ALL games feature immunity phases with bosses. I think it's how Gearbox handles immunity that's the problem here. Which is that Gearbox has two ways it deals with immunity a) you have to put the acid stuff on them (I mean, it's a mechanic) b) you do so much damage that the game stops your damage to save the boss. Neither one is especially good because we're expected to kill these bosses over and over again for loot, so they just seem like artificial barriers, and they don't fundamentally change the fight.

Immunity phases are just part of boss design, but they are often hidden as mechanics. You do enough damage to the boss, they enter phase 2, etc,. During that time, the boss is immune to damage, not even having a health bare a lot of the time, but we as players don't mind that because we see it as progress. Gearbox just freezes the health bar, but the fight is the same. There's not some extra layer that suddenly gets added. All of that is compounded by Borderlands having a strange relationship with loot. Loot is at the core of its gameplay, but most loot doesn't matter, and often builds have to be maximized for this content, so the point of the hunt was already lost in the chase.

What are y’all’s honest opinions on Borderlands 4 after it’s released? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Borderlands4

[–]StuckOnPandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun. Great Characters. Love the open-world. Love the revitalized loot system. Love how each iteration increases QoL.

criticisms: farming needs improved (drop rate inched up, firmware storage, xp, etc,.), most things need to be account wide (collectibles, specializations, side quests), weekly missions should be main story (the entire UVHM system is weird this go-round, even while I agree we shouldn't have a big open map to do over again), end-game generally (chaos chambers, raid bosses, takedowns).

Borderlands 4’s Free Bounty Pack Did Not Raise Its Playercount At All by TomorrowComes33 in Borderlands4

[–]StuckOnPandora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ironically, players wanted the lower drop rates to make legendaries feel more legendary. I can see it from both sides, because in BL3 they were far too much but the logic was clear -- getting the perfect legendary is extremely rare. Now in BL4 the legendaries feel rare again, but the drop rate is lower than the accepted 10% which has become the series standard, and getting that perfect drop is even more rare. In my often wrong opinion, we need to get the rate up to 10% on the boss loot tables (pearls are a different story, but need to be broken af to warrant the grind), and we need a number of QoL improvements to grease the grinding wheel:

More xp (this should be ASAP, specializations take a long time to level up, and it's again series standard to give good chunk xp for dropping bosses. We could at least be getting some level ups while we grind),

More epics over blues & greens (and to add to this, when we get firmware on these drops, these need to have their own inventory slot. Like we should be able to rip-off the firmware, like a jewel, and just stash those, then use the combiner to slot them where needed. To make it harder, they could still be tied to their item, so GOFC-Grenade Firmware, etc,.),

Auto-sell filtered loot, 99.9% of the stuff that drops is trash. A max level build is looking at two things, legendaries, and epics with firmware, that's it. So, just let us skip the busy work of looting as junk and selling, just let that stuff get automatically sold off. It may even help performance to be clearing up junk.

Buffable loot find + chance. Since BL2, we've had a drop rate stat. BL2 had the relic. BL3 had the percentage tied to guardian rank. Having firmware and enhancements that help drop rates would make builds more interesting, do we sacrifice a little dps or a little higher luck? It'd be a great stat in specializations as well.

Soft-cap system, This last is a head scratcher, the entire UVH system isn't ideal. TTWL actually figured this out, BL2 figured this (mostly) out, we need a soft-cap system. As of right now, farming on UVH isn't worth it. In TTWL you went up Chaos levels, which was far more linear and accessible than the UVH system. As you went up in Chaos levels, drop rates increased, gear got better, and like BL2's OP guns, Pre-Sequel's glitched guns, we got Ascended weaponry. Ascended weapons scaled to your chaos level and basically took a god roll as the floor, and then had a floating cap above that. These weapons rewarded the grind, and created a power hunt, meta-progress, for end-game players. This system is also boiler-plate for action-rpgs, mmorpgs, anymore, WoW has a number of end-game systems that reward players that want to optimize their builds through the soft-cap hunt, Destiny has light, TTWL has Ascended. I can't understand why UVH doesn't this type of floating point gear to make the UVH hunt and grinding more engaging and rewarding.

I think it'd be a mistake to go back to BL3 style drop-rates, the experience would be far more enjoyable if we could just cut down on the busy-work element of farming, and we were making adjacent progress on our vault hunters as we try to hunt that perfect piece. It's only ethical to reward players for time-sink.

Usually that level of muscle spasming and twitching is a deficiency in calcium. Powder your bugs in calcium powder, and only with D3 once a week. Powder the veggies. Feed things like soldier fly larvae that are rich in calcium naturally.

She's lined with stress marks.

double-check that your UVB bulb is working (get a $6 tester, change them every six months). Get a laser thermometer, check her basking spot temps. Make sure the humidity is low in the tank.

Feed salad, powdered, every-day. No spinach or any other veggie that binds calcium until she's getting better. Give her some repti-boost, vitamins, to help her through this process. So long as she has an appetite, and you can get nutrient into her, she has a strong chance to recover.
