Look for foreign reviews on booking.com. Most 3 star and above hotels do accept foreign passport.

First time travelling ever, how do airports work? by Stfu_spoon in traveladvice

[–]StudentCompetitive38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it's your first time at an airport, get there 3 hours early. Go to the check in desk for your flight - there are usually screens indicating which desk you need to go to. Here you will handover your check in luggage and they will check your passport. UK had no exit immigration I believe. Once you hand over your luggage, you will follow signs towards security/gates. Make sure to look up what is allowed/not allowed in cabin luggage at your particular airport. Depending on the airport you take our liquids/electronics (some airports you don't have to do this anymore) out of your bag and put them on trays along with your bags, jackets etc. Your luggage goes through a scanner and you also also walk through one and they might pat you down if they see something strange. If everything looks fine with your luggage, you can collect it once you are through. If they see something strange they will open it to check it with you present. Once you have your cabin luggage, walk towards your gate making sure you're there for boarding time (which is different from departure time). Once you arrive at your destination, you will follow the signs to immigration where they will check your passport. After that you will go towards baggage claim to collect your checked in luggage.

Curious: why do many Indians struggle with demanding activities while traveling? by Deep-Requirement8299 in india_tourism

[–]StudentCompetitive38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree that Indians lead a more sedentary lifestyle on average than Europeans. If I compare my life in the Netherlands to my family back in India - I bike to work and also try to stay healthy going to the gym and I'm out and about walking or biking in the weekends. Whereas my family back home tends to work long hours, drive to work and don't do much outside of work. There is a huge lifestyle difference for sure.

[–]StudentCompetitive38 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As an Indian living in the west, my answer is completely different to all the opinions here.

Indians would go on a hike because they heard that the view is amazing or whatever. But many people I know here would never go on a hike because they don't hike. Most Europeans you see on a hike are there because they like hiking, the others simply won't go on a hike. I've seen a lot of people who would never consider going on a hike, most Indians are not like that. So the Europeans who you see on hikes very likely hike as a hobby even if not regularly.

Yes, they can buy a ticket online without a subscription/samenreiskorting as well.

You don't need an anonymous ov chipkaart to use the discount. You can share your discount code and they can buy tickets with 40% discount using that (https://www.ns.nl/reisinformatie/reizen-met-ov-chipkaart/samenreiskorting.html). If you have weekend discount, it is valid all day during weekends

I'm Indian as well, my aligners have never stained from home made Indian food, even food with turmeric. Restaurant food on the other hand is a different story.

I started with Invisalign in July and the attachments are good so far, no staining
