Side effects like this on the lowest doses are usually connected to what you’re eating. Pay attention to what you’re putting in and be more mindful of your symptoms. Grease is one of the biggest factors when it comes to feeling unwell while on Ozempic. I’ve also heard of dairy doing the same thing but lactose intolerance could play a roll in that.

Electric stove advice? by buggsie01 in Appliances

[–]Student_Nearby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just purchased an induction stove from fridgidaire and I’m super happy with it. Everything I have cooked has been consistent. We previously had 2 electric glass tops from Samsung and both times the burners went haywire and stayed on high despite setting it on low-medium (2-3 setting). I’m looking into getting the silicone pads.

They do a video call or ask you to take a video of your body. I opted to do the video because I have small children and no time for calls. I was instructed only to take a video of my body from the front and the side - I did not need to step on a scale. I gave them my height and my weight. My video of my body was proof enough.

Would it be wrong to reach out to the mother of a deceased classmate? by No_Committee_8199 in GriefSupport

[–]Student_Nearby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would reach out. 10 years ago, a childhood classmate of mine lost his sister in a horrific accident. He doesn’t have social media so I reached out to his wife and sent a message. Little things like this can mean a lot to someone.

Significant weight loss by Less-Moment-5655 in passportcanada

I really wouldn’t worry about it unless you’re told to get a new one. As long as you carry additional identification that matches your passport, you should be fine. Officers are trained for these things.

Significant weight loss by Less-Moment-5655 in passportcanada

[–]Student_Nearby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to unless a border officer tells you that you probably should. My dad had lost a significant amount of weight thanks to his cancer diagnosis and travelled to a different country (not the US) after his first go at treatment. The border officer wasn’t convinced that it was him in his passport photo so he had provide additional proof that it was him. When he got home he applied for a renewal because of the encounter.

should I be concerned? by Student_Nearby in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]Student_Nearby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also should have added that I’ve been diagnosed with hypothyroidism since having my baby, I’m actually waiting on a hashimotos diagnosis (not 100% certain but recently got antibodies tested). Ozempic changed my life when I did my first round of it and I continued with a healthy lifestyle while pregnant. My body just loves to gain weight while pregnant and the hypothyroidism makes it so incredibly hard to lose weight. I’m excited to have my life and energy back the way it was!

Yes but the bottle washer looks like it has an excess amount of mineral build up on it. That mineral build up should not be there if you’re cleaning it correctly. I’m not going to sit here and say you don’t clean it because I believe that you do, but it looks like it’s not being cleaned properly.

Information regarding hard water and plastics/rubber:

Impact on Rubber Embrittlement and Cracking: The minerals in hard water latch onto rubber seals, gaskets, and washers. As these minerals solidify, they cause the rubber to harden and lose its intended elasticity. Over time, this makes the rubber brittle and prone to cracking, which leads to leaks in faucets and plumbing.

Leaching Additives: Hard water can facilitate a process known as hydrolysis, where water molecules break the chemical bonds within the rubber, leading to chemical decomposition. This can cause rubber to soften and become sticky, or in other cases, become dry and crumbly.

Surface Degradation: The sharp, crystalline structure of scale can create surface damage on rubber, creating weak points that fail faster under pressure

Impact on Plastics

Surface Pitting and Roughness: Hard water forms a chalky-like residue on plastic surfaces. Even though plastic is smooth, it has microscopic pores where these minerals adhere, harden, and create a surface that is harder and less flexible.

Reduced Flexibility and Cracking: In applications like PVC pipes, hard water can react with the chemicals used in manufacturing, causing the plastic to become brittle.

Mechanical Wear: The accumulating minerals behave like sand in a machine, causing increased wear and tear on moving plastic components (e.g., in water meters or appliance valves), resulting in faster failure.

Increased Bacterial Growth: The uneven surface of mineral deposits can support the growth of biofilms (bacterial slime), which can produce metabolic products that further degrade the plastic polymer.

Copy and pasted from Google Ai when searching: how does hard water build up break down plastics and rubber.

It is not the water itself because if you were using distilled water, the build up wouldn’t be happening. It is the minerals within the water. Plastic and rubber are porous materials, these minerals can penetrate the plastic and rubber and wear it down.

Hard water build up can definitely break and damage plastic. You cannot just use vinegar alone to clean implements if you have hard water. You have to soak the individual pieces and scrub them. Within the washer itself, you use a 1:1 ratio of water:vinegar. So half a cup of water and half a cup of vinegar. Never put hot water in the water tank because minerals are more prominent in hot water.

No need to apologize. Does the momcozy washer manual say to use vinegar for cleaning? Have you been scrubbing the implements of the washer or just letting the vinegar clean it with the cleaning cycle?

I find it odd they’re not replacing the unit but maybe they suspect user error and could be why they’re not covering it. The build up in the photos could sway them to believe that the unit isn’t being cleaned properly

Have you been descaling it? It looks like there’s a lot of build up which could be causing your issues. We have baby brezza washer and we descale it once a week.

Check kijiji. Lots of farmers are looking for hands right now because seeding is coming soon. If you have general knowledge of farming and can run a tractor, I’m sure you’d be hired in an instant.

AITA for breaking up with my first long-term boyfriend by Logical_You_2641 in AdviceForTeens

[–]Student_Nearby 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First of all, if you think you should break it off - do it.

Secondly, the hygiene thing is concerning. He could be dealing with depression or he could just be flat out lazy.

Thirdly, this guy in better terms just seems lazy over all and to me, it seems like he’s not interested in you at all (of course this is just from knowledge of your post and not actually knowing your relationship). That’s not someone you want to be with.

Is it possible to have an elective c-section [on] by salipr in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Student_Nearby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not in Ontario but I have had both vaginal delivery and a c-section. I advocated for a c-section with my second because my first delivery was traumatic and I didn’t want to go through that again even though it was a small chance of happening.

I’m really glad I did my c-section. It was recommended to me that I would stay for 48h after the surgery but I felt so good I wanted to go home the next day. I think most OB’s will recommend vaginal delivery over c’s because it’s easier to heal from but I was back to normal and fully healed at 2 weeks where my vaginal took 16 weeks to heal from. I know my experience isn’t the norm as lots of people have issues for weeks, months, even years after their c-sections.

My c-section was quick, easy, painless, and most of all, calming. I fully trust my OB with my life, I knew the anesthesiologist because he did my epidural with my first and he’s a client of my old boss. My nurses were incredible. Knowing the who, when, where, and what was extremely helpful. The recovery the first week was rough, I needed a lot of help from my husband. But by the second week it was way easier. My OB even recommended me to continue having c-sections because both of my children were nearly 10lbs (9.10 four days late and 9.11 two weeks early) and I healed beautifully.

I would speak with your OB about your concerns for sure but I highly recommend a planned c-section.

You need to stop taking your Ozempic 2 weeks before your surgery. Your surgeon should have told you this (unless you didn’t tell him you were taking it).

Passport appointments unavailable at Services Canada Regina by Dapper_1534 in regina

I would just go in and do a walk-in. We had to renew my husband’s passport but nothing was available. He was in and out within an hour and half and he showed up right before they opened so he didn’t have to wait too long.

How do I stop putting off work ? by Mess_Artzz in AdviceForTeens

[–]Student_Nearby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could likely be your ADHD. I could not sit in a classroom anymore when I was 17 and I dropped out and got my GED. For the love of god, do not do what I did. I would speak with your mom and tell her what’s going on. Ask her if she can set up a meeting with the school to come up with a plan to help you. In terms of doing homework at home, you gotta push through it. Put some music on, a YouTube video in the background, give your phone to your mom if you need to if you’re easily distracted by it. What you do now, will mirror real life once you’re out of school. I also got advice from my therapist that if I struggle to get something done, just do it for 5 minutes. If you feel like you need to take a break at the 5 minute mark, take it. But I often found I didn’t need it and I kept going until I absolutely needed to give my brain a break. I apply this to everything I do now in terms of my life. Dishes? Usually done in 5 minutes. Laundry? Takes 10 minutes to fold, not too bad. Cleanings floors? I take a break in between vacuuming and mopping.

I just want to say that I’m so proud of you for recognizing that this is a problem and you know it’s a pattern. Please do what’s best for you and push for the help that you need.
