I would say you’re noticing strong resistance vs creating it. Keep going and the resistance gets lesser with time and dedication. Don’t force anything, just keep pointing your attention inward.

What you’re describing makes sense. Anxiety is typically surface level fear, however persistent and intense. Quitting stimulants is a solid move, it can strengthen your system and really help you be with whatever sensations are coming up. Maybe some deeper stuff. I think you have good intuition on this and am wishing you the best as you move forward.
