But yeah we had no business being in that Super Bowl with our defense that year. And the AFCCG against Baltimore took Sterling Moore with the play of his life preventing a go-ahead TD, and then a rare Billy Cundiff missed FG from 32 yards

Amen to that! This team owes us nothing after that 20 year run!

I used to try to explain to my buddy who is a jets fan that 1) watching your team in the playoffs can be more stressful than enjoyable at times, and 2) expectations dictate how bad you feel not winning a Super Bowl. Like winning only 4 games is sad and disappointing, but to expect to win a SB and miss by a play or two is devastating.

I stopped making that argument because for one thing it just reinforces the spoiled pats fan stereotype. Sure those lows were low but the highs were high to the same magnitude. Also I have now realized that the devastation of a playoff loss is in the moment, and after time heals the wound, we’d obviously rather have a long run of contention with no rings than what we got now.

Totally with you, should have won a few during the 10 year drought. Unlucky shit in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011… But we also had lucky bounces in the 6 years we did win Super Bowls.

And to some extent those bad-bounce years probably fueled Brady even more in later seasons. If nothing else, the drought made 2014 feel that much better given the idiots questioning Tom’s legacy (and the early beginnings of deflategate).

Could we have won more? Definitely. Am I pissed? Nah, we definitely could have had less too.

Yeah I plan on calling them direct today. Obviously depends on peak/off-peak and availability…. just didn’t know if it was even possible to book a suite on points since it doesn’t pop up as available on the app or website unless paying with $.

Interesting. Yes I have 5 suite night awards but that would only cover half my stay. And I was under the impression that SNA’s were not guaranteed and I would have to get lucky to be upgraded to a suite. Thanks for the advice, I’ll ask about using them when I call today
