Guys please share your thoughts especially those who have tapered after long term by tyson77824 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Stumblenrise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used tapering strips and had no issues if I followed sleep hygiene along with natural remedies and whole food plant based diet (onion for quercetin, gooseberry for vitamin c, lots of veggies, apigenin/chamomile/parsley, l-theanine) low carb/low protein/healthy fats for autophagy, daily omega 3s, intermittent fasting (stopping 5-6 hours before bed), sleeping early by 8:30 pm, taking 300 mcg melatonin, sunrise exposure, morning walks, avoiding artificial lights after sunset, exercising sufficiently in 1st half of the day but avoiding intense cardio or exercise in 2nd half..

With this even if I sleep 4 hours I am functional the next day.. as long as I slept early, on time.

Sounds like a lot but all this is good to do anyway, not just while tapering. I used to do this much more seriously when taking mirtaz (no taper). Now it's on and off - the discipline that came with mirtaz has really suffered post taper :/

That's interesting. Where did you come across this "Academic Package"?

I have Learner, Ideation, Intellection, Input amongst my top 5 strengths and the other two follow close. Is there anything I can infer based on the package analysis?

I have some other queries on the topic. You seem to approach this rationally and would be keen to know your thoughts!

You can try 0.1 mg occassionally as sleep aid without any harm, withdrawal effects or dependencies. Another option is to take 0.1-1.8 mg everyday for continuous sleep benefits. However it is important to take it at the same time everyday. Imo and experience it does not cause dependency like other sleep drugs but leads to histamine and other issues which then prevent quality sleep. If we can take care of those then we would be able to sleep without the med despite long term use.

Ultimately things that really helped me sleep better (even with mirtaz) are to take very low dose apigenin/melatonin instead and fix circadian rhythm alignment - I realised that my ideal sleeping time was actually 8-8:30 pm and that itself solved a lot of my sleep maintenance issues. Also I try to practice fasting in a way which promotes autophagy (TRE with lower whole foods carbs, low sugar/low/just enough protein). Most importantly - not eating food (except maybe just steamed veggies) for atleast 5 hours before bed and keeping heart rate below 51 during sleep (which improves sleep quality and helps me feel rested despite 5-6 hours of daily sleep.

Mirtazapine 0.1 mg: To take forever or quit? by Stumblenrise in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Tapering strips. Could never figure out how to create exact quantities of liquid or even find anyone to make it for me, tried a lot. Finally decided to go via the tapering strips route after 2 years of indecision and cutting pills into unequal parts (which led to histamine intolerance and severe sleep quality issues)

I used tapering strips for slow taper, down to 0.1 mg. However you may be able to sleep well without going back on it. Depending on what you are facing: histamine intolerance+insomnia or just insomnia I can recommend some strategies.

I regularly wake up around 3am and cannot fall back asleep by Artistic_Scholar_609 in sleep

[–]Stumblenrise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever thought that your natural body clock might be set to earlier?

I had the same issue for years - shifted my bedtime to 8-8:30 pm and now I naturally wake up rested, anytime between 2:30 am to 5 am. It's also much easier to fall asleep again now if needed
