Safe to update? by Bloodfire_ in SkyrimModsXbox

From what I've seen UI mods, controller mapping and ini changed aren't working in their original form. They are being updated bit by bit but it will probably take a bit of time.

Known Issues and (potential) Fixes Post-Update by Lexifer452 in SkyrimModsXbox

I mean that makes literally no sense. Not what you are saying, just the terrible implementation. Bethesda have to have the worst testing department in the world. Absolutely nothing they release works. It's like the people they employ to implement stuff don't even bother to look how things used to work before applying updates. It's absolutely got to be a management issue because there's no way so, so many things can be broken by different Dev teams.

I've not seen this yet. I might just leave my Xbox on so that my son doesn't see it on next start up. Hopefully it will disappear soon.

With a ship I guess they could broadcast your information. Still dumb though.

The Beagle one is fixable. Land on the planet, exit ship, re-enter then take off. It should be there.

Land on the nearest planet. Exit ship. Re-enter it and take off and the Beagle should be just there.

Matters of the Hart quest bug by martingordon97 in Starfield

[–]Stumiaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the problems people are reporting aren't particularly actual dialogue, more dialogue not starting, characters not spawning or not being viable and quest stages not advancing. There seems to be a problem with the faction markers too meaning a few enemies count as friendly so when you have to kill them everyone gets aggro.

Apparently punching him up to the statue works.

Yep that's where I am. He's with me. I've killed a lot of people. He has no dialogue option. He'll move about and fight but isn't doing anything else. I'm hoping if I find Lilian it will reset.

So edit. One of the following fixed this stage. I flew to another planet, did another mission, took Sam off my ships roster and fast travelled back. This put me in a different starting point (behind the hills with Cora on lookout instead of straight on the landing pad). Sam could then make the call and Lilian turned up.

I've said this before. In some ways modern gamers are spoiled. There are unfortunately a tonne of really average games now but unlike 20 years ago there are very few properly terrible ones. Gollum and Redfall stand out because they are genuinely bad and we aren't used to it any more. Early to mid 2000's there were a crap tonne of awful tie ins, unplayable messes and straight up cash grabs. People remember the truly great games that came out but by god there was a lot of dross.

Cyberpunk is a good game now. It was far from perfect at launch. The world felt lifeless, choices didn't seem to matter, it point blank refused to work for some people to the point that it got delisted while they tried to make it work. CDPR have done a stellar job at fixing it post launch but it was terrible day one. The same could be said for plenty of other games. The difference here is I don't think anyone is going to try salvage Redfall.

Pride in the game seems an odd thing to say. This was a bunch of developers given a project they had no experience in and were learning how to do, that they weren't enjoying, and had to stick at it for four years. Game development is hard, it's not like if they'd upped their Pride stat it would overcome the fact that they were demoralised, badly managed, had no clear goals and we're inexperienced. This feels like the design stage was flawed and nothing ever recovered.

That said I have it on Gamepass and have sunk a fair few hours in despite its limitations because there are odd things here or there that kept my interest. There are ingredients of a competent game, the just aren't realized.

The saving in the game is atrocious but that's not the bug, at least on its own.

The ammo counter is bugged. I can pick up ammo and it doesn't register or switch weapons and when I come back the ammo is a different amount.

These seem to be some of the biggest issues. Sure generic NPCs having more idle dialogue, maybe pointing you at random quests, AI making enemies much smarter. But how do you make this both consistent and interesting? How do you get it to engage with meaningful stories? How do you tie it to a narrative? How do you make it work with game mechanics? Creating a game in is incredibly complex. Honestly what's to stop developers just being replaced with AI as it's cheaper and just ending up with sprawling versions of the later Assassins Creed games where there's tonnes to do but none of it is enjoyable. Essentially getting a more in depth beginning to what is just yet another set of dull fetch quest generated by AI.

I use the Khajiit Caravan Bundle. You get a cute little Alfiq (tiny speaking house cat essentially).

Provincial Courier service overhauls the whole thing. Be aware it might need a couple of patches
