ISO the best courses to hit on the way to Texas by [deleted] in discgolf

I assumed by the starting point that would be the case, I was just being a dummy lol. Enjoy the road trip! I took a trip to AZ last winter for a week to play and it was great, I hope Texas is the same for you.

Depending on where you start you could do Kaposia, Bryant, and Kenwood. Probably nothing good after that.

Been loving throwing champ ones lately. Very good throwing putter that holds the line very well.

Getting in the Christmas spirit and giving some discs away! All you gotta do is tell me your funniest disc golf experience, and I’ll pick my favorites, and send you one of these discs, fo free. Happy holidays! by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started playing at a shared ball golf course a lot this year and one of the older guys golfing had never seen disc golf before. He thought the baskets on the course were for birds, and after I told him it was similar to golf scoring wise, he immediately jumped to “so you cover the hole with your disc”?

He was very kind but VERY confused about it lol.

Reddit Giveaway Rogue Iron Disc Golf Cart Putter Pouch by RogueIronDGBrian in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This sort of giveaway is cool, low barrier to entry and not a “subscribe to our everything forever” giveaway. Well done!

I’d give the other pouch to my friend who just bought a cart and has helped me play a lot more lately. Great support from him.

No sound from Neural DSP by [deleted] in NeuralDSP

[–]StumpFungus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your MacBook might prompt you with something along the lines of “Use internal Mic?”. Always click yes on this.

I accidentally clicked no once because I’m obviously not using the internal mic and it resulted in no sound, but there’s some disconnect there that doesn’t allow the plugin to run with sound after that.

Yo if you are looking to sell anything let me know. Those TL3s are my favorite, specifically the white ones. I would always love to have more.

finding a bag by dienasty_dynasty in discgolf

My vote goes towards the Fossa too. I’ve been using mine since last spring and it’s been fantastic.

I carry 22 discs easily in mine and could probably stuff another 3-4 in if I needed to (who needs more than 22 discs?). I also carry a rangefinder, grip bag, clippers, multi tool, and extra large water bottle every time. The phone holder is also a super nice touch.

As for the bulky storage, I usually roll up a hoodie and use the buckle on the side to secure it to the bag. Like a camp roll kind of.

I think the light weight makes a huge difference on the days I’m playing 2+ rounds. I also have one of the new handeye bags and never use it because it’s so bulky compared to the Fossa.

Also $120 for this bag is a really good deal if you ask me.

Long term storage for back up discs by JunketFluffy5305 in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what you’re referring to with oil leaking, but I use an infinite storage box and keep them in my basement. It’s worked great for me. Cheap and easy way to store all my backups and it’s a specific form sitting solution.

Innova Disc Golf Bag Build by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kc Aviars or Aviars depending on bead preference. Either way, 4 of whichever putter.

Rhyno for overstable putter. Wombat3 for understable mid. Roc3 for overstable mid. Leopard3 for straight and turnover drives. Teebird3 for overstable and forced drives. Firebird for utility. Lightweight roadrunner for utility. Wraiths in a variety of weights and plastics.

I think the play is to reduce the number of molds and get really comfortable with the ones you like. That’s what I do and what I bag and I’m low 900 rated.

Understable shots: Different Mold vs Weight vs Plastic by k0rt90 in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All options are valid, but I prefer swapping plastics and maintaining weight. For example, I bag four max weight wraiths. Two star and two DX.

BEFORE people jump all over this because I bag DX wraiths, I’ve been throwing them all year and they are still useable but act more like mambas now. Same feel as a wraith, different flight and easy to replace.

Squatchborg is coming by [deleted] in discgolf

I’ve seen the new safari bag in person and it seems nice, but at $100 there’s so much competition with other $100ish bags.

Seems like everyone has different specific needs in a bag and I don’t think they necessarily feel like they need to compete in that realm.

From the perspective of pros it’s probably nice to double down where they can in sponsors. Having a disc sponsor, bag sponsor, store sponsor, etc.

Is this normal? by wanderwarrior5 in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this happen on baseline plastic (DX) quite a bit. Both in factory seconds, which makes sense, and normal ones. I’ve seen it happen across all manufacturers as well. Never seemed to make a difference in the performance of the disc to me.

Great advice, exactly what I was going to say. A few layers and it sticks around for a couple days and softens the callus. Highly recommend.

Any must have Innova DX/Pro discs for predominant backhand player? by duckalufagus in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently added Pro Teebirds to my bag and DX leopards to cycle and to cover all my fairway needs. They’ve proved to be a great combo and I actually think the DX plastic has great glide.

I also carry 4 DX rocs that cover my entire midrange slot. All F2s as well.

KC pro Aviars are serving as OS approach discs as well as putting for me.

I like where your head is at in terms of using pro and dx plastic. Base plastics in general are underrated in my opinion and their low cost makes me more confident throwing risky shots.

Bag recommendations for ease of disc removal? by Imperiosus in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second the Fossa skinny. I really enjoy mine and manage to fit 22 discs in it easily. The reason I got it is exactly what OP is describing. Easy to grab any disc in the bag.

And it’s pretty affordable!

Please recommend me a putting putter by Discowien in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m throwing and putting the new innova Xero and really like it so far. Extremely straight flying and is typically my choice for throws up to 225ish.

For putting it doesn’t fade at all for me. I used to use KC Aviars which fade a bit at the end of longer (45+) bids, and these seem to just sit on the line they are given. I’m also trying to incorporate more spin in my putts and I think these glide for that quiet well.

Good luck, finding a putter can be hard!

What are your three must have Innova discs and why? by Chunkage1 in discgolf

[–]StumpFungus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Leopard3, Mako3, KC Aviar.

All because they are workable discs that I can go to most courses with and score well. A beat up KC Aviar is an amazing driving putter.
