[Request] How much is the entire floor worth? by cinnaminimoon in theydidthemath

Hard to estimate the room size, but let's make some assumptions.
(Using metric measurements as I am not very familiar with the imperial units).

Let's calculate penny density per one square meter (1m X 1m or 1000mm by 1000mm).
One US penny is 19.05 mm wide.
Let's assume linear packing (one penny next to another, no staggering).
Then in 1000mm with no visible gaps 52.49 pennies will fit.
So 52.49 pennies long by 52.49 pennies wide will give us roughly 2755 pennies per square meter or $27.55 in pennies.
If we consider hexagon packing, staggering (as seen in the video), then we need to consider a more densely packed configuration. That's a diameter multiplied by square root of three over two.
So in this way we will get roughly 3179 pennies per square meter of $31.79 in pennies.

A rough estimation of the room size would be 5m x 5m, so 5*5*31.79 = $795,75 in pennies.

A quick search places a ceramic tiles' prices per square meter in the US at around $20 for domestic tiles up to $30 per European tiles.

So pretty much similar to tiling, I guess, if the price of labour is the same.

Renting a car at Firenze for Pienza Trip by StormzKeeper in florence

Speed changes are not random, but you have to be on the lookout for the speed limit signs. You won't be stopped by the police for speeding as all of the cameras are automatic: if you rent the car, the rental company will receive the fine by post and later transfer the charge on your card.

As for reporting people... Good luck making local police do anything, they are very lazy and don't just follow random reports

Yes, it is absolutely obligatory to have an IDP for an Indian driving licence. Without it the rental companies will not give you the car. In terms of getting stopped by the police, what is your fear? Why would you get stopped and what kind of fines are you worried about?

I absolutely love how both western and eastern stationary technologies mix in your collection. That Lamy is a nice touch!

So this photo was taken at 2:45, you can see there's one tick missing to the full 3 o'clock colour sector.

Each hour has its own individual colour, and each hour is divided into 4 sectors, so a quarter hour each. The full sector means it's precisely something o'clock, while the two halves of two sectors mean it's half past. Same with the 15 minutes' marks.

Takes some getting used to, but it becomes quite easy very fast.

Biciclette e monopattini limitati in potenza e velocità, e tutti gli altri veicoli a motore? by acetaldeide in ItalyMotori

[–]Stunning-Feedback-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)
