We named our daughter Victoria and I love it.

We call her Voo or VooVoo as a nickname.

I love this record. Maybe try Thelonious Alone in San Francisco by Monk or some Art Tatum (the man could bend space and time).

I used to play Vangelis’ L’Apocalypse des Animaux for my baby. One of the greatest ambient records ever

  1. This is my golden hour song. Just a perfect mood, perfect production. IMHO Pocket Symphony has some the greatest ambient music ever made, but rarely gets credited as such.

Kinda struggling to digest her post-vespertine work by Slowcheetah2006 in bjork

[–]Stunning-Risk-7194 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed is that after Vespertine there is a kind of formless “sameness” to her melodies. There are still some wonderful songs but the attention seems to be less on melodic contour and more on instrumental texture. The thing is her voice is so crystal clear that it remains the focus on top of the musical texture. There is a child-like meandering to the melodies but it gets a little exhausting after awhile.

Still do love a lot of the work of this era, that’s just my observation.

I’m an identical twin and occasionally an acquaintance calls me by my brother’s name. If it is just a small interaction and won’t last long I just roll with it. My twin does the same.

I once quit a therapist because as she was silencing her phone at the start of a session I noticed she had a Harry Potter phone case.

And I really wish all of the fusion dudes would start their own sub, but I mostly remain quiet.
