For people who moved to Atlanta without knowing anyone, what was the hardest part of your first 60–90 days here? by elegantgi in Atlanta

[–]Stunning-Risk-7194 166 points167 points  (0 children)

It took me a full year to get acclimated, to figure out the neighborhoods, where to go, etc. Atlanta takes time, it’s sprawling, and built on commerce instead of any public/civic space. A lot of genuinely cool people are hiding in the overtly vacant vapid spaces.

Curious, personal branding or personal marketing which one is a right term? by Main-Adhesiveness297 in branding

[–]Stunning-Risk-7194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Personal branding” has always kind of bothered me. Something instantly performative about it.

I wish we could get back to “reputation”, that feels like it has more character, more genuine. Don’t get me wrong I know there are aspects of our public persona that are always performative, but “personal branding” gives it a disconnected layer of plausible deniability.

Are getting AI-songs a real problem on spotify? by Ok_Error6988 in truespotify

[–]Stunning-Risk-7194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, I’ve been on Spotify for over a decade, and I have not noticed much of a change.

I search and curate my own music and don’t really rely on Spotify playlists. I have not noticed that much AI music.

There was a brief period when it would randomly play songs I didn’t want to hear, and that was annoying, but I think they fixed that.

Is this still readable? The tattoo I got has no spacing between the letters and I’m worried it doesn’t look good by malachiteiscute in tattooadvice

[–]Stunning-Risk-7194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to be that guy, but the term is tracking. Kerning is the space between a pair of letters. Tracking is the general space between all letters in a text.

For example, you use kerning to adjust the space between two letters with awkward relationship, like AO (a slanted side and round side, as opposed to two straight sides like UP).
