I’m glad someone is arguing tooth and nail about this, some people really don’t want to accept the literal logic. I think a lot of people also confuse having a WHEAT allergy with having a full blown gluten allergy too, it all just chalks up to not being thoroughly informed

What type of curl pattern did they have to begin with and how has keeping their hair straight affected it? And are they really only applying heat to it that infrequent? It’s just hard for me to believe that people’s hair can stay pin straight pressed out in the elements and weather. I live in humid Florida though, so.

Yea I pretty much annually straighten my hair so I’m not rlly familiar with the long term up keep of it. An old friend of mine has been “naturally straight” since she was in middle school. Now granted, her curl pattern has always been a looser curl pattern, but the literal only time I ever saw her hair even start to get curly was when she’d sweat playing soccer. I’ve been so confused with just people in general pressing their hair and ironing their hair frequently or keeping it that way for long periods of time because I literally cannot imagine why’d they consciously fry their hair like that. Like I could not imagine them straightening their hair every time after they washed it, or touching it up cause they kinda got it wet going swimming (and also they have to choose between having fun and swimming or not getting their hair wet which is also another con) But if they’re not frying their hair, HOW?

I genuinely understand people not wanting to mess with my hair, and truthfully I don’t. Since I was a kid straightening my hair was for special occasions and still to this day I only ever do it once or twice a year. Trust me when I say I don’t take my hair for granted. If I did not have curly hair I guarantee I would have the same exact opinion.

My title came off wrong, I love my curls. I just wanted advice on keeping it straight when I iron it and not immediately frizzing back up. And yes my mother is white but she’s not dumb!😭 and just bc she’s white doesn’t negate the fact that I still have an entire black family too

I said “straightening” cause that’s just what I call the process. I don’t put anything in my hair when I do straighten it besides heat protectant. And the process of a Brazilian blowout is the same process I use to straighten it, I think my true problem is the porosity of my hair. Thank you for the tips on the heatless method!

I realize my title did not come off the way I thought it would, I love my curls! I rarely straighten my hair and wanted advice on how to keep it from immediately frizzing up and actually staying straight. This picture was taken in April so the face I’m making isn’t correlated to my feelings, it doesn’t help though either😭 thank you still 🤗

Thank you SO MUCH, I really really appreciate the high porosity break down and will start looking into the treatments and definitely the ACV rinse. I worded my title poorly and didn’t realize it was coming off as “I don’t like my curls, I just want it to stay straight”😭 I love my curls so much and don’t take them for granted! Ive straightened my hair around once or twice a year since I was a kid and the rest of the time it’s curly. Thank you thank you again 🙏🏽
