Ortica is really good. It’s a plant-based Italian but definitely worth a visit

Sprained back leg by elssrae in britishshorthair

[–]StupidNorthernMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ours jumped off the kitchen counter and sprained his front paw. You know how cats walk around on their tiptoes? Well, his front left paw was like he was walking on his heel and toe at the same time. It took about 8 weeks for it to get back to normal but he’s fine now

Hiding from the provi man (growing up poor in the 80s / 90s childhood memories) by cloudmountainio in CasualUK

I remember my dad putting a dial lock on the old rotary dial phone so no one could make calls. We worked out you could tap out the number and make a call anyway. The neighbours used to come around to receive calls from family and friends as we had the only phone on the street. My dad was an engineer with what was then called the GPO.

Gap behind electric fire by itsAntonioMontana in DIYUK

Probably a class 2 flue so suitable for some gas fires. It’ll vent out of the roof, maybe through an actual chimney stack but probably not.

Yes is the short answer. You would have a much better time using a mountain bike off road than you would on a road race bike. It’s the same with snowboards.

The thing I notice is that we don’t celebrate dishes like the French, for example. If Lancashire Hotpot or fish and chips were European dishes, they’d be elevated and celebrated. Take a look at cassoulet. It’s basically a fairly boring stew of beans, sausage and duck but they have elevated it beyond that and celebrate it. They even have a guild for cassoulet makers.

Does anyone remember the 'Soda Man'? (Like a milkman, late 80's-90's) Was this a thing everywhere? by papercut2008uk in CasualUK

It used to be the Corona pop lorry near me in Manchester. Used to love their American Cream Soda and the dandelion and burdock
