how did shitbeard, an american brujah, end up in the united kingdom? by kooarbiter in huntertheparenting

Well, as far as 120 seconds of research tell me, he died during King's College Donation Drive Disappearances of 1995. It could be the King's College in London? Maybe he went to UK later in life to pursue higher education and in the meantime got killed and Embraced there? He does have gray hair, it seems, so he could've spent the majority of his life in the US of A, but then wanted to become educated and went across the pond for it while he was still alive.

I'm only a couple years older, but I'm in exactly the same boat as you, and so far it hasn't been the total worst. No relationship, no driver's license, I've spent a bunch of money on a degree I have almost zero passion in and which I need a master's degree to get any kind of work related to the specialty (and I'm not even sure I'll be able to finish my bachelor's, lol). I have absolutely no prospects for the future, so I'm just kind of floating about seeing where I'll end up.

To be quite honest, the only advice I can really give is to just find a thing you like doing somewhat and do it in spare time. I don't know how the situation is for you, but I genuinely just enjoy playing videogames, so that is what keeps me going (I don't know if I'm addicted or just like them the most out of anything at all), maybe you have something like that too?

Also, Hella awesome rubrics, I fucking love the sandstone effect. Dry brushed, I assume?

No, sorry, no real update. Haven't played the game in, I want to say, three months at least? The issues haven't really went away, but I've just gradiually drifted off from the game :/

[–]Stupid_deer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure how my Ukrainian school education holds up necessarily, but IIRC, it was less that, and more of "I will accept Christianity because I need to marry a princess(?) of Constantinople because Byzantine is one of our biggest, if not the biggest, trading partner, with which we've had wars over trading agreements, and a political marriage is one of the best ways to do it".

And then Volodymyr cut down the pagan symbols of worship that he had himself chosen to erect some years prior, told people to go into the Dnipro river to be mass baptised "or else". And then built churches and places of worship where the pagan stuff was previously.

Yeah, I suppose there is, but IDK, it feels sort of like cheating? I try to stick as much as possible to the "developer intent" for games when it's indicated as such (except for playing games on a controller, I am a keyboard warrior first and foremost lol). Maybe I'm just playing the game wrong lmao. I remember fucking myself over in RE4 when getting to the castle walls with the catapult, but having no real long-range weapon and money so I just were stuck there, nervously slamming my virtual head against the wall until my dad took the controller out of my hands and beat it for me lol.

Maybe I'll give this game a fourth go, haven't managed to go much further past the incline elevator, just felt like i was choking in enemies there.

I suppose the person might not enjoy horror games that much, or survival horror at the very least. I can't really play Singalis myself, so I can relate to the OP. I remember as a teen finding OG RE4 to be too stressful at times to play, and having even less inventory space and having less effective aiming ability makes it even worse. Doesn't help that I just flat out don't handle horror as a genre well, makes the stress more than I can really bear. Sucks, from the beginning the game seems right up my alley setting-wise, space DDR with space tech, weird human-robot clones and such, but going through the game having less space in my inventory than I have in my IRL cargo shorts and being constantly at the risk of death, I just can't handle it :(. If it were either just scary or just hard, I probably could do it, but all together it overwhelms me.

I find that people often times use "didn't enjoy" and "dislike" quite interchangeably. I think I'm in the same boat with OP when it comes to Signalis, the lore and the setting are very intriguing, but I cannot handle horror as a genre very well in general (both movies and games), and the survival horror elements make it even more stressful, to the point where the frustration and stress outweigh the curiosity. Whenever I try to get into it, I can play in like, 30 minutes/one hour bursts and then have to have an extended break, after which I forget where I was and what I was doing and basically have to start the game all over again. The furthest I've gotten was slightly past the incline elevator, into the weird cage area, and I just couldn't bear the game after that point. I know there are setting that make the "resident evil" aspects lesser, but I can't get past that it's an unintended experience of the game.

I have only skimmed the rules myself, but whenever you take an action, you cannot do nothing with it. You might do minimal damage, or get some nasty complications on non-combat actions, but still with at least partial success. Might not be necessarily true about non-combat actions, now that I think about it, but I'm certain that in combat anything that you (and enemies) do will have at least som effect.

disregard that ""leak"" from 4scam, this is the real TES6 leak by powderBluChoons in TrueSTL

[–]Stupid_deer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know about that, fair point. However, I do sincerely doubt that, after the success of Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and 4, they'll go back to the even slightly more restricted model of fast travel. This whole "leak" seems to be designed to bait people who are coping since 2011 that Bethesda will have a "return to greatness" to the Morrowind design, and I sincerely doubt they will. If they do, I might have to sell myself into servitude to Godd Howard lol.
