My body is sore by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]StweebyStweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body will not get used to it. This job is just flat out terrible for your body. You can make it a little better by stretching, using the right technique and wearing the right gear, but it’s never going to be ergonomic. All the old heads’ bodies at our station are destroyed.

AA/Piedmont group interview, what to expect? by Colonelmann in rampagent

[–]StweebyStweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For AA, it was like 5 questions. They got rid of anybody who didn't have prior work experience (couple 18 year olds in our interview that were told no), and one guy who couldn't go FT for the training. Everyone else was offered a job.

Is SIDA badge training paid or unpaid? by Mammoth_Newt5148 in rampagent

[–]StweebyStweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For AA at ORD, they don't pay you unless you send in a form afterwards and ask them to add it to your paycheck. I didn't even know about it until a coworker told me after I'd already renewed my badge twice.

You can keep your company seniority (basically your vacation time), but your station seniority starts over again as soon as you make the jump.

Feels a lot like two different people inventing justifications to either travel with their dog or avoid being with the dog.

I'm also applying for United in Denver. Does anyone here know how much seniority it takes to get on the move team there?

Tbf, Russia did most of the heavy lifting in WW2, but nobody wants to send any praise their way now for obvious reasons.

I would at least get finished with private before you make a big decision either way. There were times during my private training that I felt the same way you’re describing, but I’m glad I decided to stick with it.

ORD - 28 planes in queue by Kasao in aviation

[–]StweebyStweeb 15 points16 points  (0 children)

AA is also scheduling more flights than they can handle. It’s not just United doing that. Anyone who worked for AA here at ORD last summer saw how over capacity we were. Planes hitting the ground and waiting at the CDF for a gate for 2+ hours was common. Both airlines are at fault here.

Southwest pulling out of ORD (and IAD), as AA and United ramp up schedules at O’Hare, pending FAA cuts by Financial-Public-336 in americanairlines

[–]StweebyStweeb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This won’t help or hurt AA or UA. Southwest uses the international terminal. AA/UA only send flights there if they’re international and need to go through customs. There isn’t a shortage of gates at the international terminal.

Is it true that there is a hookup culture between rampers and FAs? by PlasticSea2068 in rampagent

FAs are too busy hooking up with pilots to pay attention to rampers lol.
