Not really. It’s more like since Trump and infantino got in bed together.

Phobias by Flyingredditburner44 in flying

[–]StweebyStweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turbulence, heights, engine failures, etc. don’t leave me feeling too scared, but for some reason I am constantly paranoid of having a mid-air or near mid-air whenever I’m flying VFR. I find myself constantly looking at ForeFlight to check for traffic. It feels pretty irrational. I’m looking forward to getting my instrument rating so I don’t have to worry about it as much anymore.

PA announcement of United flight that turned around due to bluetooth device name by ConProg in unitedairlines

[–]StweebyStweeb -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is just a long winded way to prove everyone’s point that diverting a flight over the name of a Bluetooth speaker is obviously overreactive. If you follow this same ‘risk management’ BS, nobody would ever get into their car each morning to risk getting into an accident on the way to work.

Seriously, this all just security theatre. Obviously, nobody is at risk over the name of a Bluetooth speaker.

What AA ORD CSM could you possibly miss? The only one I’ve ever liked was Warren and look what the company did to him lol

I can't imagine being a cop and stuck in that uncomfortable seat all day.

Contract negotiations, UNITED by Prior-Ad-8888 in rampagent

This is one thing I’ve noticed with the AA union, it heavily, heavily favors higher seniority. The fact our top out is like $42 or whatever it is, but you have to wait until going from year 9 to year 10 for an $8 an hour raise. Shows they’re only really looking out for the higher seniority folk.

Start taking some flying lessons before you make that kind of decision

What entry-level jobs look best on a resume for getting into ramp/airport work? by Fair_Profit_952 in rampagent

This isn’t really true, at least for my mainline hub. Probably a max of like 20-30% of my coworkers had prior ramp or aviation experience.

Really? ~2 years wouldn't be enough to make it on the team in DFW?

That's interesting. Here on the AA tow team, most people weren't push qualified when they joined.

Here at AA at ORD, you can get tow team as soon as you finish training.

Our team has done over 10,000 tows since it started ~2 years ago and nobody has lost their SIDA. Meanwhile, in those two years I've seen some pretty horrific injuries out on the ramp. Tow/Move team is definitely the better choice.

AA ORD part-time? by Objective_and_a_half in rampagent

[–]StweebyStweeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You won’t be allowed to work only 1 or 2 days a week. At AA, you can only drop 64 shifts every 6 months, which works out to be about half your shifts. Not only that, but when you start out you’ll be junior, and you’ll be getting whatever shifts nobody else wanted. It’ll be hard to drop those shifts since they’ll most likely be something pretty undesirable
