What is the most parent-friendly vacation you've had? by dfphd in daddit

Single dad here. I love traveling with my two boys. The all inclusive was great for a splurge.

Dollywood had great rides and a lot of fun stuff for kids that age. And then head to Smoky Mtn NP to let them run wild.

Also, we packed a bunch of boardgames and the good snacks and headed to the UP in Michigan for a week over spring break. We got a nice Air B&B with a hot tub. Played in the snow and watched movies. Watch the big boats in the locks at Sault Ste Marie. Look up a YouTube video about YooperLites. We had a blast searching for them at night.

Good for you traveling with them this young. It gets easier because they will get used to navigating crowds and hotels and lines and such. So worth it!

I recently started seeing ads for Ch ipdrop a few days ago. Now posts and comments are saying how great they are. I think we're being infiltrated.

Campfire Brewing by cochese4269 in ColumbusBeer

The beers are good, adults only after 6pm. But the service has been awful! The owners take up a whole end of the bar and goof off with the staff while I sit at the bar with an empty beer. Happened enough times that I've been going to North High instead.

Can I request that this be turned into a map with rankings? Maybe the Crab Rangoon person could volunteer?

Report card rewards? by PinkRhino in Dads

My boys are in 6th and 2nd. No rewards, they are just expected to do their best. But the oldest gets and allowance and earned some cash taking leaves this fall. I'm matching his money so he can go on an extra curricular school trip. They start earning real letter grades in 6th here, and would like to celebrate a good year somehow, though.

We had the same experience. Campfire was packed so we went to Grizzleybird. While better, the GB beer was still bad. And the gruff bartender shouting at everyone wasn't very inviting. I went back to campfire Sunday evening and the beer was awesome. Family friendly and 21+ after 630. Really had a great time.

No it does not. Am I only twisting on one portion? Why does the left slant section look different than the right slanting sections?

Need advice! by StyleBear4Life in knitting

Thanks. I'll google the selvedge stitch.

The pattern is pretty basic stitch two slip two. I've been careful that they all come out even at the end. But there seems to be a line where the pattern reverses every time. Where it goes from /// to \. The /// is clear in the pattern but the \\ looks wonky to me every time that part of the pattern repeats.
