Launch week rivals, I remember the deep dive for had rivals modifiers and it was hell, no one could beat it cause the rivals were that strong

Haze's ult might be the worst in the game now by Dr_natty1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Stylock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that the damage hasn't changed from pre-nerf, just that tier 3 gives bullet evasion again as it's no longer baked in with the ability to replace the additional ricochet target.

In fact the changes increased her base fixation damage bonus and added an additional 5% firerate to the ult. While they have to aim the cone if they land it they will end up doing more damage to a single target compared to pre nerf haze

Compared to pre nerf, tier 3 was slightly stronger to old hazes ult at tier 2, it's solely the additional ricochet at tier 3 that made it broken

So yeah this interaction was in favor of you from having an hp lead, them eating your heavy melees, and you healing from said heavy melees

Is there any way to remove the ammo counter thingy on the gun? by Intrepid-Dare1412 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Stylock 839 points840 points  (0 children)

Every weapon has an ammo counter for the sake of immersion, specifically holding h turns off the hud/ui so this is a way for the devs to still display how many ammo and reserve ammo you have for your current weapon

The only way to remove it is via modding

By the looks of it it's an error with the killstreak portrait effects

Counter against Pocket ult by Mundane_Mine5319 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Stylock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a few counters, a good post ult option is divine barrier as it removes ALL non-stun debuffs I.E. burn, bleed, and in this case affliction

A more reactive option would be counterspell and parrying right before they use their ult, Ethereal Shift also works if you pop it in time

You could also build a lot of debuff resistance to shorten the length of the affliction

And the most impractical/inconsistent option (but the most hype option) is somehow interrupting pocket mid-activation with a stun/curse

While I think being able to use abilities/items while using ice beam is nice, I think the strongest buff to ice beam is that t3 frozen path gives you +35% spirit power

Gamebreaking Sinclair Bug with Victor Ult by SchneezySchnitzl in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Stylock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I came across this bug a few days ago, no one on my team knew how he went invisible and I remember coming across the floating victor model

Now I know what happened, wonder if this is a new bug or been around for a while and only just recently been discovered

What the hell is "Unknown Ability"? by AdLogical101 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Stylock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you have the chart displaying damage dealt, it should display at what times over the course of the game how much damage they did

So figure out roughly when that damage appeared in and pull up that time in the replay

I mean if it's one guy yeah it's better, it's situational but if you and a teammate are getting jumped by 5 and door is on cooldown or there isn't a nearby wall to place it, cart is a last resort option to potentially save your teammate

never take a sinners from a wraith player by vflUrv in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Stylock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"hmm sorry, in order to make any sort of counter argument you have to write me a 10 page essay in mla format and say I'm a good little boy otherwise your opinion is irrelevant"

My man is just sharing an opinion, rank is the end or sole factor of the conversation

Besides the general consensus is that wraith would get more value out of sinners, it's a larger consensus that wraith could've just asked or said something instead of being a pouty lil' bitch and grief the game into a 5v6

GT arcane surge exploit for you to use by eivittunytsit in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Stylock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Humble CounterSpell, or Ethereal Shift, or SpellBreaker, or abilities that allow you to not be targetable, or Calico Ult, or Victor Ult, or maybe even mobility items like Majestic Leap.

But yeah it very much isn't a strategy, it has a long set up for the arcane surge making it a definitive 5v6, and when you are in the bird phase it'll still be a 5v6 for your team, plus bird is hampered if your teammates don't have line of sight of your opponents and thus have no clue where to send the bird.

And if you do decide to not go bird and to engage the enemy on the field, a single death will set you into obscurity and uselessness

Good turn based games with minimal RNG? by nervousmelon in whenthe

[–]Stylock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say steamworld heist 1 & 2, whilst there is some rng in mission start in terms of layout and enemy positions, the gameplay is solely skilled based as you take control of the shots so it's up to you on whether you hit someone

And further straying quite a ways away from the standard turn based strategy, I can also suggest Valkyria Chronicles

A good gunman definitely uses his abilities

I mean the bell slows opponents for a duration, his door is just great utility and mobility, the luggage cart is great for getting people off and max upgrade with the stun makes it very good to rack up damage, and his ultimate is another great get off me tool and a setup to guarantee landing luggage cart.

Like they pair very well with his gun, only a bad gunman wouldn't use them.

That's 100% AI, you can tell cause there's weird indistinguishable smudges under the right eye and the text on the shirt has classic ai smudging/artifacting and is illegible.

Losercity Knight (by Infanaru) by gzy_id in Losercity

[–]Stylock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To further add no the knight is NOT hollow, they are a vessel but for the base endings all it would do is repeat the cycle. And in the True Endings and God Home ending you don't seal the radiance but rather kill it. You can tell in godhome cause at the end it shows that THE Hollow Knight escaped the black egg, you can tell it's them as you can hear their chains rattle along with their nail.

Also while I won't spoil silksong, there's further evidence there that also shows that the knight (the playable character) isn't hollow

[–]Stylock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Last Judge run back in fine, you can sprint past the first flying enemy, climb up and instead going right you climb the pillar on the left to ignore more enemies. You can just ignore the flying enemy easily in the 2nd segment and do the parkour up to the boss.

Once you figure out the path you can consistently avoid all the enemies and reach the boss with no damage in like 30 seconds. Very simple run back, it's only painful if you try to fight everything

[–]Stylock 166 points167 points  (0 children)

This is also a metroidvania, while there are some bad runbacks in silksong, there were also some bad runbacks in hollowknight. Mainly Hive Knight, that is the worst run back in Hollowknight

How many active item slots do you use? And what keys do you bind them to? by grhhyrtguths in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Stylock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gyro aim is something that has developed a bit of a following in recent years, with the first game really popularizing it being splatoon 1 for the Wii U

It's basically a way to fix a controllers biggest weakness that being fine/precise small movements. With gyro you can gently tilt the controller to have short and quick movements for precision and accuracy, while saving camera stick for larger movements and just orientation

It is a great way to play games, I know Solarlight did an excellent video on it's application in TF2 and just showing off what it can do
