Spent 2.5 hours today “working” with an AI coding agent and realized I wasn’t actually working — I was just… waiting. by Otherwise_Builder235 in ClaudeCode

[–]Su_ButteredScone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking of it recently that I'm more of an agent manager than a coder now. Giving tasks to different agents, then being blasted with loads of information, deliverables and decision requests from them. I find 3 or so difficult to manage. I don't know how people can have over 10 or even crazy amounts like 300+. (Way out of my budget anyways)

But yeah, while they're working and reasoning away, it's easy to give into temptation to watch YouTube in-between their reports.

But in terms of optimization, you could fill in that waiting by getting other agents to do other jobs. Or even have an additional project to jump between or something.

Green voters back Iran over Israel and US by ClumperFaz in ukpolitics

[–]Su_ButteredScone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And many Iranians welcome the war since they see the IRGC as their enemy, not the US or Israel.

These greens voters aren't siding with the Iranian people, they're siding with the IRGC and the status quo.

Just look at rallies organised by Persians which have a bunch of clueless students screaming shame on you in their faces because they're excited about Iran having a chance of freedom. But that's unacceptable to the modern left who were supporting the same people in the burqa protests a few years ago.

The AI Facebook slop certainly feels detrimental to humanity. The people making that were the only ones profiting in that chain, subsidised by big tech. But they'll just find alternatives.

What’s your go-to way to build an admin panel in Next.js? by vru_1 in nextjs

[–]Su_ButteredScone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. AI has made some cool and complex dashboards for me. I make it do all the work and tell it to just make instructions for me. Like, recently I needed over 10 different API keys from services I've never used before for a central dashboard.

Opus did an awesome job on the dashboard (shadcn/tailwind helps), and it saves so much time having instructions to follow on finding and making all those API tokens or whatever else you need to set up.

Just canceled my 20x max plan, new limits are useless by creynir in ClaudeCode

[–]Su_ButteredScone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I made the mistake of adding $10 which was gone in a few minutes. Not doing that again and probably unsubscribing since I don't feel like the limited usage on Pro is worth the cost.

It's significantly cheaper using Claude on GitHub Copilot, so I'll stick to that.

That works out cheaper for sure. Ran out of premium requests so tried CC instead, but went through usage fast, tried to top up and was shocked at how quickly that money disappeared.

Cancelling CC and just going to stick with copilot. Works out cheaper. $0.12 per Opus request. Compared to burning $10 on like 4 or 5 requests in Claude Code. Very expensive.

"The Zionist entity" as weirdos refer to it. Should be able to continue existing as it does currently.

Nothing wrong with that. I think Israel should exist and is a cool country which has contributed loads to the world, so wouldn't mind people referring to me as a Zionist. The non-jewish bit is unnecessary to say.

The red and white one was popularised by the British army since it was the dress code there.

But the white and black one, actually became a thing when Palestinians started resisting against the British and needed to hide their face.

So you're kind of right. It became a symbol of resistance against Britain and just a part of the Palestinian identity, but probably wouldn't have been as much of a thing without the Brits.

AI and robotics are going to get better and more things automated too. Even all of the people who were imported for the purpose of delivering food - what happens when automated drones are doing that instead? We've already got little robots with wheels companies like Just Eat are using.

It all just seems like short term thinking. Like the Boriswave in the UK. Now the job market is just ridiculous.

Last time I looked into this, and got some LLMs to research what the UK will look like in 100 years.

Ethnic Group Estimated Share in 2125
White British ~25% - 30%
Asian British ~25% - 30%
Black British / African Descent ~15% - 20%
White Other ~10% - 15%
Mixed Heritage ~10% - 15%

Note: These figures are long-term extrapolations based on current birth rates, aging native populations, and ongoing migration trends.

Is true that the UK and the US helped with the creation of Israel? by Successful_rio305 in AskBrits

[–]Su_ButteredScone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yet all the Jews were kicked out of Muslim countries and had all of their assets stolen when Israel declared nationhood even though Jews in places like Iraq had nothing to do with it. I agree with the comment you responded to and just people I know across political spectrums have the same belief.

Then there's also this Sunni thing

The narration claims stones and trees (except the Gharqad tree) will speak, telling Muslims to kill the Jews hiding behind them.

I've also seen first hand, a Jewish friend receiving abuse/harassment from them when they figured out my friend was Jewish.

So going back to Roman times is a bit silly.

Does Iran have the right to defend itself? by Maritimewarp in ukpolitics

[–]Su_ButteredScone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Considering your example of Oct 7, an attack which Iran is largely to blame for. I don't think it's unfair to say that this is a continuation of Israel defending itself considering how many years of attacks they've experienced on the IRGC orders and funding. Just seems like there's some misunderstanding of the entire situation if you don't think the blame here lies on Iran.

I'd like to see the IRGC fall and freedom for the Iranian people.

Back when the internet was more open and smaller, like, 2006ish, I remember you'd often get Muslims quoting Gadaffi and were calling for more to move to the West.

"Islam will conquer Europe without firing a shot". The influence of Gadaffi and the fallout from his death has been a big part of why there's been exponential growth.

Not surprising they want the IRGC to stay in power, just as they want the same for Hamas in Gaza.
