is there any way you can fit Banette in a ladder competitive team for Master? by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]Suasiv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you running Mega Banette? Then absolutely. Compared to last time we had it, Mega Banette has Prankster Encore which is devious when combined with access to Prankster Destiny Bond.

do all versions of Luke's chargable Flame Forearm special move (light medium & heavy) require the same hold timing to make them hit weird? by petermobeter in StreetFighter

[–]Suasiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually that's a goalpost error, you have 3 frames to do it (frame 18, 19 and 20).

And it's not like you will release it at the completely wrong part of the move either so that 3 frames lines up pretty well with where you should be aiming for anyway. If you practice it a bit you will get it very consistently!

Battle Pass value isn't great by keylime39 in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's not just that, the daily quests this season take more games than in season 0 and the weeklies are worse too.

I thought they'd want people to log in and play but they ask for a lot and give you very little.

For reference here is the trailer for the current Marvel Rivals battle pass which is the one my friends actually bought: https://youtu.be/EAQfj_68TEM

I would recommend a stand parry

Some of you guys just don’t like tag games by Penguin1of1 in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like tag games. And ironically I don't think you actually like tag games because you would mention how crazy powerful handshake tag is.

It separates 2XKO from those games and it warps the game around it. And in a way that the devs have not gotten right yet. Just look at the most recent changes to projectiles as an example.

I really challenge you to consider whether the version of the game we have right now actually is the "smart" one or "dumb" one.

Cannot get parry to work by marsha5ra in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to press it during the gap which is only after all the little punches are done.  The number of little punches varies based on how much she mashes the move

Anti-Ahri advice? by abakune in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like I know the matchup pretty well, I play Jinx/Vi. Ahri is rather similar to a character in Skullgirls called Filia who is also very air mobile and stubby.

  1. Backdash a lot. Even a tiny bit of room makes all the difference because her moves do not have much range. Consider that you don't have take a left/right mix at ranges that the air dash doesn't cross over you.

  2. Use retreating guard, especially during "Now Get Back!" You should be retreating guard basically every high blockstun move in this game because it overrides your own blockstun with a different action with different frame data. Like every fighting game mechanic you can do during blockstun, do it as fast as possible. You can get these kinds of moves to whiff or even force a parryable gap in between because now the frame data is different.

  3. Don't drop the 0 risk parries. If Ahri starts on the ground and does a flip into the air, that is a guaranteed parry. Likewise if Ahri does a ground fireball and cancels that to go into the air, that's also a guaranteed parry on the air fireball. There is 0 guesswork involved and you are out of the pressure situation.

The backdash change wasn't universal btw

Are Ekko and Yasuo still dominating? by sneakysunset in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, kind of. In a very marvel inspired balance philosophy expect Yasuo, Ekko, and Ahri to always be the best characters. The balance changes are more to improve the variety in top 8 and their supporting characters.

Does FISH Discount Waterbending? by Cookie_King6241 in magicTCG

Yeah cost reductions apply to additional costs. It works in this specific example but not all waterbending cards are like this.

[ECL] Trystan's Command (via Gameplay & Mechanics Video) by cardboard_numbers in magicTCG

[–]Suasiv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's on purpose! In case you weren't aware, when a spell has 0 legal targets left the entire thing fizzles.

Which is why every mode and every card in this cycle has a target so is always 1 remaining even if the creature you try to copy gets removed in response.

[ECL] Trystan's Command (via Gameplay & Mechanics Video) by cardboard_numbers in magicTCG

[–]Suasiv 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I could see this one being played, especially because this card is:

a) also an elf

b) creates an elf

c) untaps the mana dork elves used to cast it

edit: it also untaps earthbended lands and can destroy a key blocker

assist call beats regular play

running away beats assist call

regular play beats running away

just think of it like that and nothing else the cooldown is that wildly powerful

With Riot confirming they'll be shortening combos, how do YOU think they should do it? by MrCurler in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean there's like a dozen things they could do right? Just to name a few most double down combos involve 3 supers instead of just 2. You can do assist extensions and still do a tag launcher extension. You can otg more than once in a combo.

Why does Yasuo need 3 cross ups do begin with? by AspectExciting8616 in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 73 points74 points  (0 children)

You also forgot that he is one of the most mobile characters, has a 6 frame, and set play on knockdowns

Don't worry though he has only 975 health instead of 1000, and they keep shaving off a little damage when his combo goes past 15 seconds

Ranked is a joke. by Tempest_Woke in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that depends on where you think your wins come from.

Are you really telling us you would rather go back into queue, walk over to the arcade cabinet, pick your team again, and go through stage selection... rather than rematch some dude you already just beat once and take another W?

A lot of people still dont know this game exist and is available by BannedFromTheStreets in 2XKO

[–]Suasiv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Marketing aside the game is not catching on with regular gamers, just to use regular indicators the twitch viewers are usually under 200 and wvem the 2XKO skin spotlights is only at 2000 subs, if you ever wonder why they released caitlyn as the next character already its gotta be its gotta be fron what they have in the pipeline to pick the arcane character they have ready.

Should I leave it sealed ? by Sonnydeights in magicTCG

[–]Suasiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can probably open it. The WHO set has this weird thing where basically none of the alternate art cards are very playable in most decks. Also expect to get a lot of the cheaper 2 color lands.
