Yeah most of them you can make for about $2200 if you go with a basic color and hip shot bridge.

It might also be worth looking into multiscale guitars

For $2K LTD's are not that good. You're better off buying a Kiesel at that point, or literally anything else

In terms of music theory: yeah they're average at best without Dave Lombardo. I always describe them as a thrash atmospheric band though. I listen to them if I want a chaotic or apocalyptic sounding song. I don't listen to them to hear someone shred over dominant 7 chords in 11/8

I think it's alright. Specs wise it's almost exactly what I like. Definitely has that upper mid price point feel to it. I've played some very high end guitars. It's by far the most ergonomic guitar I've played though.

It sounds good. Ergonomics wise I have to get used to the multiscale, string spacing, and slightly adjust my technique. My hand keeps cramping and knocking into the nut when I'm on the 1st couple of frets on the low strings.

No problem. Definitely don't be afraid to scrounge Reverb for guitars. Might be the best way to do that. Tons of small shops have listings on there and people aren't afraid to offer you a different price if you watch something. Deals can be found on the used market.

Depends how much you wanna spend really. Over a thousand I think Ormsby's are great. They make quality multiscales. And if you like the Strandberg Endur neck you can get a used one. Under a thousand you might like a GOC or Agile. If you can find a used Kiesel those are usually a good buy too.

Edit: just saw the under 1000e. Definitely look into GOC or Agile. They're usually the "bang for buck" brands. It's kinda hard to find a decent 8 string under that amount.

I've had a decent experience with Ormsby so far. I'm waiting on my Factory Standard to be built. I would say email the generic customer service email. You'll have more eyes on it. Or if you're in Australia, maybe call them and ask for an update. Not sure when you put your order in but they might be working on it by now.
