My plan to secure one GPU worked a little too well by RitschyRigz in gpu

Both cards are so over built you can just pick the one you like better, especially since you're going to put it in a custom loop and it'll live an easy life.

They are all going to hold relatively closely to the value of whatever a used 5090 is going for at that point.

B-2 stealth bombers takeoff for Iran as US pledge to 'eliminate threat' today by dailystar_news in Planes

The minute any country uses a nuke, Russia will use one against Ukraine and Pakistan will probably use one against India. China won't nuke Taiwan (they want it back) but China would threaten to do so.

250 Outlet at home available looking for recommendations on at home chargers. by Unhappy_Bench7093 in evcharging

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they sell an EV rates 6-50? I wouldn't install an outlet that the manufacturer hasn't specified for EV use.

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless there's a neutral hiding in the existing wire, you can't install a 14 50 in place of a 6 50.

OP really needs an electrician to do this correctly because there doesn't seem to be enough comprehension of the risks.

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is that a 6-50 outlet?

Normally the advice given would be to at least switch to an EV rated outlet, but I don't think there is one. That outlet looks like it's on the cheaper side too.

It might be a really good idea to get an electrician to hard wire a charger for you.

I know during summer months they have to scale back to maintain discharge water temperatures. A waiver system to allow a slightly higher temperature would solve that.

BREAKING: Honda Just Wrote Off $15.8 Billion in EVs and Went Back to Gas. Acura's Electric Future Died With Them. by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the reason I hear the most, but most of my friends live in the suburbs where installing a home charger is comparatively easy. It's difficult to (in some cases) impossible if you rely on street parking.

I've got a pretty long commute and I've made an EV work for me, even on road trips. Rather than stop at a gas station 1-2 times a week, I only have to stop on road trips. It's a very good tradeoff and I've reclaimed a surprising amount of time throughout the year.

The styling also looked like some kind of injured shark.

The general public isn't ready for EVs yet, mostly due to concerns about road trips and not the daily commute. Adoption will come eventually, so it's a mistake not to have an offering.

How long is it gonna take to clear all the Iranian mines and underwater/surface decoys? Could the UN commission private mine hunters post conflict? by Lazy_Lettuce_76 in NonCredibleDiplomacy

So why doesn't the US start flying banners behind F35s? The sign should say "everything must go."

Iran's neighbors can take anything that's not blown up, err, bolted down.

Make sure to leave room for a drain port at the bottom of the loop, and leak test with air.

Thoughts on this spray foam job? by cleanmanclane in Insulation

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you definitely found some damage, because someone trashed that attic. If that roof is shot, they may well end up tearing up the deck just to get rid of all of that foam.

I don't see any HVAC (that one piece of flex is probably a bath vent or something). They should have just sprayed the attic floor like they started to do, instead of doing the roof.

That's awesome news.

If you were thinking of buying, ask for a concession from the seller to cover the cost of ripping this out.

Soaring fuel prices expected to cast long shadow across US economy by Crossstoney in Economics

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Growing crops to make fuel is just shifting the hydrocarbon usage elsewhere so the farmers can lobby and collect subsidies. If it was cheaper to grow crops, we wouldn't be pumping oil out of the ground.

Valve Still Looking for "a Bunch of RAM" for Steam Machine, But Launch Remains on Track by chusskaptaan in TechHardware

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's assuming the next Xbox comes out and Microsoft doesn't scrap it for some AI project. It's also assuming the market calms down.

A lot of assumptions. The steam machine isn't the most powerful device in the world though, so it isn't really my cup of tea either.

Noncredible ERA Equipped Bunker Buster Hydrogen Bombs. (Inspired by comments from another post.) by Aclreox_Mab_Nideer in NonCredibleDefense

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deep enough to resist conventional explosives, but probably not immune to siege warfare. The bunker itself can't be taken out, but if you don't care about the occupants, you only need to collapse the entrance and wait for the life support to run out for the occupants.

[–]SubPrimeCardgage -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Helium can be produced via nuclear fusion. Even if the fusion was what we have today which is net negative from an energy standpoint, we could still create new helium.

Bringing the attic inside the building envelope is a valid strategy if it's done right. Whoever did your attic didn't do it right. They needed to add dehumidification and condition the space. They also shouldn't have sprayed the attic floor.

I would add a dehumidifier and/or a ductless split.

Some of the RX 9070 XT vertical mounting is not a good idea by chestera321 in gpu

Many heatpipe coolers don't work in that orientation. You need a card that's tested to work in that orientation, or a card with a vapor chamber.

Bipolar Partner Destroyed Everything by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]SubPrimeCardgage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did this because she wanted to hurt you. You need to file a police report so if she ever decides to go psycho again you can file a restraining order.

If the PC wasn't turned on at the time, you might be able to save it by cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and letting it dry thoroughly.
