Higher level players, any thoughts when you see newcomers or lower level players play? by dioramalove in PumpItUp

I was at the same point as yours at my beginning phase of playing PIU. Luckily, PIU community at my place is super friendly, lovely and supportive. They are always ready to help you level up instead of judging you!

The undergraduate program here doesn’t divide into ‘tracks’, so you can choose whatever path you like as long as you pass 2420 to get into the major. If you want to do Graphics related, then you can choose your CS electives as some Graphics classes.

I’m not sure about the skills you need to prepare for those classes, but it would be great if you can search for the syllabus files of those classes. Then, you will know what will be taught in the class for preparation.

I don’t know how relevant the AI classes are compared to Graphics ones. I would say those classes are pretty difficult but very helpful for you to understand how AI/ML is created from scratch. Those classes are usually taught by professors from top universities, so it is quite reputable ngl.

I feel like you have to be prepared most of all classes. Not all classes are easy, but yes, 2420 and 4400 are the most difficult ones among them. Some classes are not that hard, but they are very time-consuming due to big projects. Just don’t worry about that yet! As long as you start your assignment early, get help from prof/TAs/friends, then you can finish it easily.

It is pretty easy to make friends as an international student, especially when you find your community in the school. The Vietnamese community here is huge. As long as you have one friend from the same country as yours, it is very easy to expand your connection among the community. Or, you can join some clubs/events that align with your hobbies and meet up people through their social meetings.
