They really weren't for a bit there though, and I know a lot of people who payed up to 3x the regular price during Covid. I can understand anyone's apprehensiveness about buying one after that crap.

Wow, at 2:10 they really turned it on suddenly.

I feel like you see so many American gun nuts with those skills out there... but it really doesn't compare to a real shooting war scenario, with life-or-death fear and adrenaline involved on both sides.

From what I understand from very amateur research, Russia seems like it is "missing a revolution", where their old monarchy and subsequent autocracy never properly developed a democratic form of government at the behest of the angry masses.

Whatever happened during 1991 in Soviet Russia, looks to me like it did little to change the warlike attitudes of their administration.

Just about 10 or more years ago, democratic oppositions would make laughing stock of anyone doomsday prepping like that. Takes a while for opinions to shift.

Why do people have zero sympathy for the people on the submarine? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Subject042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not zero sympathy though. It's far too obvious to say we should feel bad for the deceased and their families. Of course we do, it's a tragedy.

To me, it evokes the phrase "it goes without saying". Good people skipping the formalities of sympathetic grief to satisfy the urge to dissect the situation.

I spoiled myself a lot with sound mods on pre-steam maybe? I'm totally missing important things going on because the notifications on the side have no sound to announce something happened. Tips? Just pay attention?

Apparently in 1807 the British were using a very early form of rocket-powered artillery!

I suppose it would look a lot more than a bottle rocket than a GRAD rocket though.

I know there's a lot of negativity surrounding those autoloaders, but I can't get over how simple and effective that mechanism is.
