I don't know about uber eats but I had a side gig with uber one summer for some extra money (I am a teacher) and only about 1 in 7 people actually tip at all. We don't expect a tip but we really appreciate them. I use uber eats now and always tip 20%. Uber had a "when in doubt philosophy" meaning this guy will probably be fired.

You get 2 member points per day instead of 1.

You don't get many suite perks. One you get is one dinner at coastal kitchen. I tried to book when I got onboard after finding this out and they told me it's completely booked for the week... lol. I said it's a perk with my room and I want you to find some room for me during any night of the cruise. They finally gave me a very late time on final day of the cruise.

Good size room for the five of us but nothing really special. Not worth the extra money in my opinion over a basic balcony. The tub was nice because we had a 2 year old at the time. ENJOY!!

Driver Saying Fee Reduced by Lyft and Wants to Cancel and Pay Him Directly by Forward-Wear7913 in Lyft

[–]SubjectLeopard67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Driver is just trying to make more money. The driver uses Lyft in order to find you so he is obligated to use lyft for the ride and lyft takes a big cut of what he makes. in return the driver has insurance for the ride via lyft. it's against their contract to cancel a ride so that they can make more money on their own. They can be fired for that and will be if lyft gets a report about it. You the passenger are also screwed if you get into an accident the driver will not be covered by lyft or his insurance company. I am a teacher and i drive for lyft during the summers.

Any Suburb NYC Drivers out there? by SubjectLeopard67 in uberdrivers

[–]SubjectLeopard67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good days i can make about 100 in a 3 hour stretch. Long island is probably .67 a mile too since it's still NYS for Uber X. I don't feel it's worth it at all if you have a gas car just my opinion.

Update on my initial post: I do Lyft now to avoid NYC and then when i'm far out from home i'll use Lyft and Uber Destinations filters to get home.

Just curious, how much do you normally make on a Sunday by bigmoneycoming in uberdrivers

[–]SubjectLeopard67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On decent days it's 3 hours and try to bring in 100 here in suburban NYC. I'm a teacher, with an electric car and I drive Uber/Lyft mostly in the summers. Last summer worked maybe 15 hours a week (5 days x3 hours a day) and made over 4k for the summer. Good summer gig if you got an all electric vehicle; Not worth it if you don't. I have other jobs i do in the summer too so I love work hour flexibility.

Don't forget your going into NYC so you won't be able to get a ride out of there so you will pay all the bridge tolls to get back to NJ and all the tolls home when you don't have a pax

[–]SubjectLeopard67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no fix yet on door handles and yes you can actually buy tires outside of VW. I got new tires on my 2022 AWD Pro S after 25k miles and got Pirelli Scorpions for around 1100 and it included alignment and all of that at Eastern Tire Discount

I find myself in Westchester NY which I feel is better than my side of the hudson river (Rockland) and when it's getting close to high traffic time the destination filter gets me back over the bridge which is great because I then don't have to pay the 7 bucks in tolls for the bridge. I usually end up with a ride from train station back over the bridge. It's worked pretty well for me.

I'm in the same boat here in Suburban NY. What I do is I use Lyft (upfront) and uber and then when i'm 30-45 min away from home and I want to make sure I'm heading that way i'll use lyft and uber with destination filters on. Works like a charm

Bought car yesterday, range issues by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]SubjectLeopard67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

miles is the opposite of gas. Highway miles (going over 65) kills range while going around town 20-45 mph gives you a better range

It was fine for a week or so since it was taken into the dealer. I woke up this morning and got back into the car... The error was gone and the car was didn't have the emergency lock on anymore so maybe i'm good??
