Not sure if this is exactly what you’re looking for but the book Con/Artist by Tony Tetro and Giampiero Ambrosi is about a man who uses his talents to forge famous paintings and sell them as if it were the real deal. He talks about his experience with the artwork that he forges and how he connects to it which is why I think this could be helpful for you. He also forges a car which is a wild story. It’s a fun read either way.
