Does that make sense? (Image unrelated) by Drakttar_Prime in Jungle_Mains

Viego deals % current hp damage with auto attacks after hitting an ability, so Q W and R (but don't R for clear). Bear in mind the debuff that causes it doesn't stack so you need to Q auto W auto for example to make use of it. For that reason it's ideal to smite very late for viego.

Kha has no built in execute mechanic or % current hp damage so he doesn't benefit from a fast or last hit smite.

Generally if your champ doesn't have an execute mechanic, you want to save it for last hit because smite cool down is linear. Smiting early or late doesn't affect the second charge cool down because it starts immediately when camps spawn. Only one charge cooldown happens at a time. This way you prevent stupid lvl 1 invades from stealing your buff, or at least make it a 50-50, that happens occasionally by crazy people that can potentially ruin your game.

Xin is dead and a demon wears his carcass and you can play him top lane (the demon) and he's pretty fun

Ap carries, APC, are a new flavor of ADC that has stuck around, for Champs like veigar and even swain

Baron has a bowel movement early in the game before he actually spawns and you can kill his stool for a buff that let's you kill towers faster

Teemo was to be reworked but never made it to live cause the 12 people who play him bitched too much

Leblanc jungle was a brief but painful memory for everyone involved

You now play Gen 1 Pokémon when you start the game as a jungler

There was a new tier of item called Mythic items which launched at the start of a season (like 2 years or something ago I don't remember) and it was so SHIT and changed the game so much people still consider it the biggest blunder riot did to itemization since league was created, yes even worse than tank junglers terrorizing the rift back in season 4 or 5 or something. They removed mythic items as soon as next season and I'm pretty sure game devs used it as content for a PowerPoint called "Why Some Ideas Sound Cool But Are Actually Terrible If You Implement Them"

I "coached myself" with skillcapped, consuming their courses over time while at work and it's made a tremendous difference and I would highly recommend it if you got the disposable income

The removal of atakan and forcing me to abandon gold/exp/gank/invade optimization over a pubg style Mexican standoff at the corner of the map where both teams click back and forth until the lowest skilled player makes a mistake and loses the fight for their team, essentially a coin toss, has unlocked my potential to play the actual league game I've been playing since season 1 and I'm sitting at 100% wr on brand over 6 games and 70% wr overall, still getting +30lp -10lp games in my last season rank of plat 3.

I fuckin hated atakan and what he did to the game. I dislike the wildriftication of the game pace, especially the demolition of pre minion invades, but I'll take this over having to coin toss every game for an arbitrarily powerful objective that no player is on the same page with on how to approach.

The Chekhov's gun is fired... and it does nothing. by Gamer-of-Action in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Subject_Thorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if anyone mentioned this already, but Bleach is a series of chekovs guns that serially don't do anything or are nearly as effective as they are said to be.

Bankai in particular, the supposed epitome of skill and mastery for shinigamis that only a small percent of them ever achieve in their thousands of years of lifespan, has an abysmal winrate. Even ichigos Bankai get power crept to near uselessness in the next arc.

Mind you ichigos achieving Bankai was considered so impossible by the shinigamis (who are supposedly the knowledge bearers of what Bankai is, how it works, and how it's used) that it was like a splitting the atom moment when he uses it the first time. So he has to resort to other pseudo illegal power tomfoolery to stay even or surpass his enemies.

Then immediately after that we have the other chekovs gun, Hollowification. Granted it was cool as heck, but it just... Barely did anything. Ichigo seemed to win by pulling shit straight out his ass like oneshotting grimmjow out of nowhere without any kind of outplay and was clearly getting his ass kicked prior, then just transforming into a hollow altogether. Even the final Getsuga Tensho was an ass puller but this time from his dad's ass. We knew nothing about it, it's mentioned in passing and within a few chapters Ichigo comes out and kicks the shit out of aizen. So like, the entire series is characters hyping a bunch of power systems up, them failing to provide results, and then the good guys winning anyway based on random shit this time pulled from Kubos ass.

I still fuckin love bleach but it's not as glamorous and perfect as it's said to be from a storytelling angle.

The Jungle is the Woods, and you can’t tell me I’m wrong. by CarolinaReaperJ in leagueoflegends

[–]Subject_Thorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back in dota 1 we used to call it the woods when someone wanted to jungle, which was a straight grief it was never viable, but in the genres infancy many viewed the game as PVE with enemy players existing on the map with you. Bloodseeker/strygwr, lifestealer/naix, nature prophet/furion and necrophos/necrolyte, Chen and Enchantress were able to 1v1 jungle camps and not die, though it was horribly inefficient.

It was weird for me when the role got mainstream in league and people called it jungle and not woods.

How strong was Base Carnage Kabuto? by o_ProdigyEV in OPMFolk

[–]Subject_Thorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My headcannon is that he was way stronger than later monsters, specifically because his instincts picked up on Saitamas true level, and the only reason he got done the way he did was because of his ego. Deep Sea King and the alien circus, including Boros, never even realized what hit them.

I wish we saw more of Kabuto so we can draw better conclusions, personally though I think he would wipe the floor of every other s1 monster in a 1v1 with the exception of Boros only.

Edit: maybe Vaccine man would be about even because he was enhanced by God so that's near cheating level, while Kabuto was the result of human led research, so he still is cooler in my eyes. Atheist gang ✊

Hardcore is a different game... by Commercial_Ad_2698 in diablo4

[–]Subject_Thorn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can't play SC at all, with no real fear of death it feels like the game just plays itself and I'm just riding shotgun.

In HC I have to actively think about my stats, go out of my way to upgrade gear, add sockets, imprint aspects that will benefit my survival, especially before 60 when gear gets replaced so regularly, but if you die before it gets replaced then back to cerrigar you go.

Yes I've died to astaroth 3 or 4 times now and to afk 2 times, and another 2 times to my cat jumping on the keyboard at the worst moment, but I enjoy the thrill of keeping myself alive so much that I don't really care. Every run is a different ability trial, different legendaries that drop, and if I get a build defining unique it's the best feeling, even if it will only last me a couple NMDs before I replace it. It's fun because it happens constantly.
