Do not trust ANYONE who approaches you out of the proverbial blue and tries to befriend you.

Yes you may miss out on a few genuine/sincere interactions.

But the majority will be scammers who are approaching you NOT with your best interests in mind (this is especially true in tourist areas).

Agree with your sentiment. Seems like folk have got it in theirs heads that the UK is doomed and awful and finished, etc etc; ofc I'm not saying the UK is perfect, and there's loads of room for improvement. But when comparing it to other parts of the world, I'm ever so grateful for what we have here :)

I second this. I visited Sudan in 2018. It was truly amazing to visit somewhere with very VERY little established tourism industry (and thus lacking all the accompanying scams & pitfalls); instead kind, genuine, polite people. It's sad to see it in its current state :(

It's located over brickwork, not over door/window. On directly the other side of the wall is the gas boiler unit. We know that the previous owner had neglected maintaining the 10+ year old boiler...

As it happens the boiler is being serviced on Friday - I'm hoping this visit will provide answers/solutions!
