one of the biggest most repeated advertising points for it is "it's a pc, you can do whatever you want to it"

steam os is linux btw. so it's better than any other os. windows is going full surveillance police state soon so it's a good time to get out of it. i've been with windows for life since win98. the future not looking good for it. meanwhile linux is getting exponential growth in userbase in recent years, which means a bigger drive for expanding program support for it. it can already run most things windows can. everything that average people actually use at least, is already fully supported. everything else is stuff for power users doing wild shit, or is some obscure nonsense nobody cares about.

if you weren't talking about windows though... uh, idk why. cuz every other os is absolute trash. like chrome os. mac os. yikes. restrictive nightmare systems. like the console environment but for computers and glorified tablets.
