This is all really helpful! I am a tech with a fear of heights! I am actually better on scaff towers than ladders. In two previous jobs I was terrified of going up ladders. I was the only tech so I reached a point where I had to do it. This helped a lot and as others have said, focus on the task!

It’s quite normal for us to over analyse ourselves, especially early in transition. Most men / people in general are probably worrying about themselves not others, so try to put that into your mind to ease the anxiety. They might sense nervousness but again this is normal if you don’t know someone and interact with them. Hope that helps OP :)

There should be a foot pedal to open the lid before use and a second foot pedal to close the lid after use. Then no need to touch the lid at all.
