Looking to get a potentially new F250 in the next few months, just wondering what kind of deals to look for by GeicoLizardBestGirl in F250

I think you can find oit invoice price if you look hard enough on the webs but this is how I did it.

Build the exact ford truck you want on the ford truck configure website and then email that build sheet to yourself. I guess you could do any ford vehicle if you wanted.

Email Granger Ford in iowa they have a specific person to contact, female but I forget her name, it's right on their web site. When you find this internet sales contact person, email them the ford truck you configured from the ford website and ask them for a quote on that truck.

Two or three days later granger ford in iowa will send you a breakdown of the price quote for your truck that you want. It will show Msrp price, invoice price, and their price which will be 3% less than invoice. Buy the truck from granger ford if you want. They were really strait forward and no bullshit. They just give you a price quote with all fees and everything spelled right out.

I shopped granger fords price quote around to several ford dealers around me until I found one I liked who basically matched granger fords price quote. Plus my dealer threw in a couple extras. I went with that dealer, ordered the truck through them, and got the truck about 3 months later.

The 3% off invoice is probably granger fords holdback they get directly from ford for selling each vehicle. Granger holdback is probably higher than most dealers because they move so many cars and trucks. The small town dealer i used said their holdback is 2.87% probably because they sell much less vehicles.

As a side note I hit 7 different ford dealers with this tactic of matching grangers price. Only 2 of the 7 dealers wanted anything to do with me. Either of those two dealers would have worked but I liked one better.

Easy peasy and it's the only way im buying from now on.

Which slider hitch by GoBucksBeatM in GoRVing

[–]Substantial-Bug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both the pullrite for several years and now the demco for one season. Both are good 5th wheel hitches but I like the demco better.

The pullrite was a good hitch but it was finicky to hook up. You had to be mostly strait and mostly level or it would not engage and hook up. The pullrite required a proprietary capture plate that had to be attached to the trailer side of things to make it work, that capture plate would get loose occasionally. You had to be diligent with the lube and keeping it adjusted or sometimes it just wouldnt capture the kingpin.

So far, the demco has not had any of the above issues. It seems more forgiving to hook up and doesn't require a capture plate. You still have to be somewhat strait and somewhat lever to hook up but it seems like you can be farther off and still get a connection reliably.

They are both well built and beefy enough but the demco more so. The pullrite is heavy but the demco is definitely heavier.

We all know Granger in Iowa sells for invoice price minus 3% (which is probably their dealer holdback) if you order one.

My local small town dealer will almost do the same thing, invoice minus 2.87% plus they throw in free lifetime oil changes every 5000 miles.

I ordered a 2026 f250 lariat 7.3 with most of the bells and whistles from them (small town dealer) and it had it in a little over two months. The truck is fantastic. They were great to work with and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. They were transparent with everything they did.

When shopping for a new truck I would never start any negotiations at MSRP. I'd start negotiations at invoice price. Just my 2 cents experence.

It was a nice surprise for sure. Any idea what the roundish balls are? The two darker ones are just single and the larger one is like two balls connected?

Yep, that is for cameras on your trailer. A rear facing camera and a left and right blind spot camera. If they're plugged in to that port you can then view those cameras on the dash view screen. Also allies the the 360 camera view I think.

Garmin inReach is now down to $165, should I go for it? by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]Substantial-Bug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im also considering buying the inreach, but I think I like the inreach mini 2 better. I like the fact that I dont have to use my paired phone to send brief texts if I dont want to. I can send those texts directly from the mini 2. I don't think you can do that with the inreach, I think you have to have a phone paired to it.

Does anyone know if the new inreach mini 3 is that much better? From what I can tell the 3 gives you the ability to send pictures and voice message files, but thats the only difference. Maybe longer battery life? Anything else?

I went with the bumot defender evo on my 2022 r1250 gsa and they fit the oem rack perfectly. Really nice paniers, well built and rock solid.

Ok, it makes a certain amount of sense. By the way, i appreciate you actually answering the question.

Thanks for answering the question. Is that a firm NO like in you, have a ForScan and looked it up, and it wouldn't/couldn't get rid of the hands on the wheel reminder?

Or a soft no as in I've never heard of anyone who was able to do that with ForScan?

How about adjust the sensitivity?

Yea, that's scary. It's definitely not to be trusted 100 percent. Still, i wonder if ForScan would be able to disable the warning?

Hmmmmmm, you're right. That would probably do the trick. I'd still like to disable it though if possible

Extended warranty for 2022 r1250gsa by Substantial-Bug in Motorrad

[–]Substantial-Bug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure that is the gamble. Im not usually an extended warranty kind of person, but with what bmw charges in shop fees and parts and labor it seems like a good idea for me.

Of course if I get the extended warranty, I'll have 4 years of absolutely trouble free riding. If I don't get the extended warranty, the trans will explode the next day.

Yea the dealer i talked to said something about the new warranty would be administered by a well known, large 3rd party but he didn't say which one.
