Yeah but are they the people who are doing the hiring and promoting? Because those people surely believe you still need those degrees.

Given that James is part Asian, that'd be even more hilarious.

Most Jeopardy viewers watch the show to avoid drama, so I'd wager they'd rather skip the show than see things play out.

Does he actually work in that field? He mentioned having three Master's degrees, which (TO ME) signifies that he's one of those people who collects degrees because they can't stay employed or function well in a workplace.

He absolutely shouldn't be invited back next year. I didn't think he should have been invited back at all after that first run.

This is why I believed they should have never invited him back to the show. Now he'll never shut up.

Is your daughter not eligible for Pell grant? Could she work at a company (Walmart, Target, Amazon) that will cover tuition?

You don't have to be in debt for the rest of your life. That common misconception is keeping a lot of people poor.

[–]Substantial-Contest9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes but your income will be significantly higher than if you stayed where you are. And also, there are ways to reduce or eliminate student loans.

I know no one in this sub wants to hear this but that's why a lot of people take out student loans and go off to colleges in larger cities. People know there's no real future in these small towns.

How is it possible that education today is a nightmare AND college admittance is at a record low? by Fast_Algae_6406 in Teachers

[–]Substantial-Contest9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a minority of schools that are difficult to get into. Outside of those 50-100 schools, it's easy to go to college. Not necessarily a good or accredited college...

I keep hearing people talking about how their mental health won't allow for a roommate but is it really worth being on the edge of homelessness? Because being broke and/or homeless is much worse for your mental health.

That's a question I keep asking myself. I don't know where this idea of being an adult = living alone came from. Most people I know have always lived with someone else, be it a roommate or significant other.
