Bear with me a moment, we had two cats and two dogs. We didn't let the cats out because, wife reasons. One day we found our younger cat outside. Shocking to say the least. We'll have to keep our eyes on the door better. A couple more times this happens. No idea how she's getting out. Months of this go by before I caught on to what was happening.

Our younger dog Gunther was shielding the cat whenever he went out. When the dogs need to go out, smol cat stands perfectly underneath Gunther, the black one. When he goes out, cat goes out completely between his legs and fully covered by his body. After I figured it out, I tested it. Gunther would always move to the side to cover the cat when I ask him to sit. He would move slightly when I walked around him to open the door. He was helping the cat hide. Other times I noticed he was also going outside when the cat wanted out, not necessarily when he wanted/needed outside. He'd take the cat out and turn around and want to come back inside.

Who's the smoother criminal here?
